How to Paint in Acrylics | Sunset Painting Tutorial 

I’ve been watching lots of acrylic tutorials because I ordered a canvas and paint and wanted to try it out. I’m 14, and I’ve been doing paper/pencil/color pencil art for years and wanted to try something new. Your tutorial is for sure my favorite so far. Thanks so much sis❤️😌

Katie,may I make a suggestion... Use masking tape for your horizon line, it will give you a perfect finish.

Phew, that was a journey! Completed one of my own, and you're right, it looks different than yours, but... I think I like it! My paints were much thinner so I needed to take that into account. White, as always, is your best friend with this one! Thanks Katie!

Hi Katie! You mentioned in one of your art videos that you aren't a teacher but you are doing a really good job. When you are teaching, tell the student what you are going to show them, then show them and then explain what you did. Do this during key areas of the painting and it will help students alot. Also, try to use real art terms so students can learn them, always say what size and type of brush you are using, and use the tube name when showing your palette and students will learn how a certain color looks and how to say the name of it. This will go a long way in helping students become confident painters. One more thing, when you want students to make a certain brush stroke, demo it in a close up and in slow motion if you can. Tell students to always sign and date their work and keep them to visually see how they are improving. Thank you so much for taking your time to teach others!

Beautiful!!!! I decided to do this but with watercolors as my acrylic paints are running low at the moment. I didnt include a lot of the clouds for this reason, but I think it still turned out super pretty, despite my amateur skills as I’ve just gotten back into painting. Can’t wait to try this when I get some more paints.

Thank you Katie for an amazing tutorial🙂👍!! Just want to learn how can we prevent colours from blending too much? Often i face this problem.If they are wet and blended they turn muddy😖 and if i wait to let them dry......then they dont blend so well😏. Please share your tips on this.
