I really like your video. I too paint my soap. I like your device I am going to steel thhat idea, I finally will have clean fingers. By the way I love your channel.
Thanks :) By all means, please us the idea :) I found that that nails were not the best as they are sharp and if the soap is on the wrong angel the nails rip into the soap and it will fall off. Also get nails that don't rust and clean it each time. I am going to replace the wood block for plastic, just to make it a bit cleaner.
You could cast one of these in wax, then you could put a higher concentration of fragrance in it as an air freshener, and it wouldn’t sweat! it’s such a beautiful casting
beautiful job on the bird, and that device is a game changer You say you are not good at the details but I have to say it might be more to do with the brushes you are using than with your talent. I think if you picked up some better brushes you would find you have much better control.
Dean that's genius! I will certainly be giving this a try. Wonder how long the colour stays on once the soap is used. But regardless of of time its very cute. 😊🌻🐺
Your bird came out beautiful and vibrant. I made some Unicom soaps and painted them with mica and rubbing alcohol and they smudged all over. How come you didn’t have that problem ? Is there anything I can do to prevent this ? Is there any form of sealer to paint or spray on ? Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge x
Hi, No not really, just add 1 ml into a container then add the small amount of mica, if you need to add a little bit more alcohol. So you can paint it on.
Hi Dean, love your channel and great ideas! This is absolutely beautiful! I do my own soaps but have never tried painting them, what kind of alcohol do you use? 50% - 70% - 90%? Thanks alot for the great tips and ideas, keep up the great work! :)
@@DeanWilson I just tried painting with mica and some wasn't thick enough. I did notice that it rubbed off easily after it dried and I put it in cellophane.
Hi dean, would you happen to know if I paint an MP embed and place inside a loaf would the colors run away when I add another MP soap on top? If that makes any sense lol. Thank you so much for your videos I have learned so much from them!
It might, i would say give it a few hours to set solid if your using rubbing alcohol to paint it on, but pour the layer slowly over the mica embeds. however i have not tried this so I dont know for sure.
Dean, thank for videos, I love them all. I have a question, I use 99% alcohol, will this be ok? Also, will the color stain the body once the soap is used?
99% is fine. I give the soap about 3-4 days to set. Because the mica is on the surface once you use it for the first time most of the mica will come off. If you use a lot of mica like I have it will show on the skin and require a good scrub to get it off. Its more for show then a real soap bar.
I leave them out for about 3-4 days then the mica only comes off a little bit when you touch it, but if within 48 hours it will show marks. Water drops will remove it though.
Thanks. Im fine, not effected by the fires at all. I do have ash and smoke in my area but fires are 60km away and they are under control in those areas.
