Scotty ________ I was thinking of doing an updated version of this video now I can edit things and stuff. But I still paint them the same way so I guess there’s no point lol Thanks for watching 🙂
really good tutorial leon, i always remember the advice from books back in the early days of wargaming, paint in the order that you would put on your clothes and equipment in real life! this was wonderful to watch and a great inspiration for me. all the best mate.
I have just started using the army painter set and the washes....what a revelation! Great video. Now doing Perry ACW after starting the year with 1/72 normans from emhar. Again these are beautiful figures.
Matthew Dobbs hi mate. Nice to hear from you 😊. Have you thought about starting your channel soon? Yeah the Army painter stuff is a revelation for sure. Totally changed and speeded up my painting. I can get loads more minis painted quicker now. The Perry's ACW are great models. I haven't painted any 1/72 but might be doing some 15mm ancients soon.
Cheers mate, glad it helps, if you want a even more subtle black line effect try using the army painter soft tone ink, I didnt have any which is why i used the strong tone, and am sticking with it now to keep everything uniform within my army
Another great informative video of the stages involved to get the finished look.Going to apply this to some French Grenadiers I have just got 👍👍and see how they come out.cheers again.
Great video Leon! Really like the idea of the warm white for the uniform vs. the colder one for the webbing. Going to give it a go when my boxes get here but might go for Citadel’s Wraithbone spray to use as a basecoat for the warm white and speed things up!
Thanks Cory. Glad it’s helpful. I’m going to be painting a lot of Austrians this year. I might do an updated version of this painting guide if I get the time
Cardinal Biggles thanks mate. Yes I did try them 😂😂. I think it’s on one of the Austrian videos. It didn’t come out very well so I tend to stick to white. There is a company (can’t remember the name) that makes transfers for the flag poles.
Amazing miniatures, I my self am just starting. My order of 28mm Austrians came in 2 days ago from perry miniatures. This was very helpful and I would love to see more.
Gordonblixt cheers mate. I did try to do the video of me actually painting but it was taking forever and I have no video editing stuff. Just my phone lol.
Very helpful thanks! Having painted almost exclusively Second World War figures my wargaming life, I too couldn't resist the opportunity of painting pink facings for a change of pace :) looks very striking!
Thanks Rhett. I’m putting out a video Friday or Saturday talking about the Jaegers. It’ll be a while before I get round to painting some more Artillery crew. Maybe a couple of of months
I use the same method still for my Austrians. I think for a warm white maybe starting with a yellow ochre would look good but haven’t tried it yet. Might try it if I paint some Italians
E-4 Airman I’d be tempted to use a cold white foe Teutonic Knights. Start of with Sky grey. Then use GW ulthwe grey (I think that’s probably spelt wrong lol) and then final highlight with off white.
Hi Bud can i be a pain in the Arse and ask a really Big Favor? Under where you write you "Subject matter" Can you please list for us the "paints you use" plus their item number yes im probably a little lazy; just alot easier when we order paints to have item number too; especially as Vallejo have about 45 different Browns. Thanks Bud :-)
Lol. I can’t edit the subject matter or description as I only have my phone, so I’m limited as to what I can do. The flat brown I use is flat brown 983. Let me know if there’s any other item numbers you need and I’ll reply via the comments
@@leont66wargaming31 i was looking for Shadows Flesh and the unless you put "panzer Aces" into a search engine, Shadows Flesh wont come up! I got about 7 different Vallejo fleshes; none of them you use! Yes im sure they will do a similar job; but when aspire to results of Greatness? You Model the work of the Great!
Hi, What primer did you use? I could not hear that part. This is great stuff! I already place an order for all the paints, I just missed the primer part.
Alejandro Tabilo hi mate. The base colour is bleached bone or Ashabti bone spray. The GW one or the Army painter. I used the Army painter undercoat spray.
