My understanding is raw canvas wont provide a long term stability with structure and color that prepped canvas would. It might look good now but in some years?
Really good advice - it works. I have been trying out some acrylic house paints. The smell of some is disturbing but I really prefer the viscosity. Sort of like adding flow medium to artists heavy body, but so much cheaper, plus what I love is the opacity of all colours (even yellows) which you can always make translucent if you want. Thanks again for your help.
Also just remembered I always wondered if it was ok to paint without a primed canvas. Thank you for showing us the depth created applying right on the canvas.
Thank you for sharing this! You are an awesome instructor. Nice pace, explanations, ideas and opinions. Love it. Love watching your painting process as well (other videos). Very talented.
