These contrast flesh tones and browns are really good paints. This model had a base coat of Wraithbone which is a great base colour for contrast paints to go over, especially these natural colours. Thanks for watching!

Nice, Lee. I just finished completing my Citadel paint set ( all of them today). Took me awhile but , now I have all. Now, time to paint the WarCry and Underworld Models. Keep up the great work and reviews. Can not wait for Cursed City.

Awesome tutorial and result! Understanding how different paints flow, move and dry plus how the brushes lay down paint is a real learning curve. Contrast painting is tricky especially when you need the opacity of a layer paint, but layer paints need wet palettes and are less forgiving.

Thank you! It’s really fun learning how to use the contrast paints. I’ll try the traditional method at some point, but not for a while, still lots to experiment with and learn for the contrast method. What method do you prefer?

Although you weren't happy with how the right part of the cloak turned out, it might be a great look for a weathered leather(ed) look. I think this guy, an amazing model if you ask me, turned out great. How much time did you spend in total on this mini? Cheers!

Thanks, he is an awesome model, and they are one of my favourite warbands to play. I can't remember exactly but it was probably around 7-8 hours for the whole warband once the primer was dry.

Is there a contrast paint color you would recommend for darker skin tones?

Darkoath Flesh and Fireslayer Flesh are good but not over Wraithbone. I would paint the skin areas in a base paint of a pale flesh/cream colour, then go over with the Contrast for best effect.

@@tabletopskirmishgames Interesting. I’m surprised that they don’t work well with Wraithbone since it’s almost an off-white/super light tan color.
