I love old doors/Windows with the viney flowers around. Wisteria are some of my favorite flowers. They are blooming here now over my mom and dad's old farm house. Completely over it. It's a beautiful sight. Beautiful.

The house I grew up in the states had a mail slot in the door, but the house was built in the late 1800's. Not seen in more modern houses, though. Beautiful wisteria. I shall have to paint some as they do not grow in my yard.....

Here in the southeast US the state of Georgia wisteria is thought to be invasive. However time and again I have seen it grow on a dead tree with rambling branches and it’s a glorious site. Either way, it is lending new life to the dead tree usually 2 to 3 times a year. To see it in the Wildwood where a Homestead used to be and perhaps only the chimney is left standing .There you will see the wisteria growing up through and exploding out of the top. What great repurposing this vine can do. Thank you for my morning therapy. I gave it a try it’s not quite as polished as yours but I really am enjoying it and the memory of where I’ve seen this vine in the past. Mine also has a letter box despite being in the US. We had a letter box in the door but we had to put up a mail box on the outside because our dog kept eating the mail! Great tutorial.

Beautiful art, I love this idea of wisteria hanging over the door 😍..I tried to grow wisteria when we moved to this house, but unfortunately it didn’t like the cold, wet Scottish climate, so now a rhododendron sits where my wisteria used to and it looks ready to bloom so 🤞.. I’m going to try paint this to remind me how wisteria should look in bloom lol. Thank you for the fabulous tutorial 🥰

After watching your video this morning, I was driving along the highway and noticed a HUGE stand of wisteria in full bloom along the highway. It was well over 300 yards - 900 metres. I almost drove off the road. This is a lovely video.

This was so fun to watch :) I absolutely love painting wood doors, something about getting some worn rough edges and some interesting grain...I absolutely love it!! As a kid, I grew up in Southern California, and my mom loved to have jasmine climbing, but even more so she loved bougainvillea, so several years back when I first began teaching myself to draw i was asking everyone for their favorite flowers, plants or trees, just for different ideas. So I did an old looking wood door with the bougainvillea dropping over it....nothing amazing if course...but fun to do, well, the door was more fun to me then the, what felt like but wasn't of course, billions of flowers on the vines :) but as a gift to my mil, I made her a watercolor kit in a tin, so to make it prettier, I used acrylic paint to paint her part of a base, but then just these purple wisteria coming down over the top...which is funny because I haven't liked flowers I've tried on canvas with acrylic, but for this little tin, I thought it came out ok and I mostly hate anything I do...but I was also in a hurry with no time to overthink too much. Oh, and you'll see about long babbly comment like this one in response to you over in the community things about this video😳🤦🏼‍♀️ But, this came out so beautifully!!! And I've saved so many of your videos to watch later and in watercolor playlists because you have SO many gorgeous flowers i can't wait to try when I'm more healed up. Thank you so much for sharing your work! Even when I don't paint the same flower, watching your videos, the technique that is maybe new or just the beautiful colors, or just painting, makes me super inspired to get my paints out!! I can't right now...but I hope to be healed up...not sure when...but once I am enough, I can't wait to get back at it!! I need to make a bunch of thank you cards for some friends that brought us dinner when I first got home from hospital because it was so sweet and helped my husband a ton since he's having to do literally everything. I'm frustrated I've not yet been able to make them, but they know my situation. But, I look forward to when I can :) Thank you for helping me be able to be a bit enthusiastic about something right now...thats no small feat :)🥰

I love wisteria. Unfortunately in my climate it can eat your house, so I have to admire it from afar. Thanks for giving me another way to enjoy it! Regarding letter boxes... As others have noted, it depends on where you live in the US and when the house was built. I live in an older part of my city (houses all built c. 1880 or later) so all the houses have mail slots (as we call them) in either the door or in the frame around the door (under the sidelights usually). In other neighborhoods the mail box hangs on the outside of the house next to the door. The mail boxes at the curb are usually seen in suburban or rural areas. I grew up on the outskirts of a mid-sized town in the Midwest and there everyone had mail boxes on posts at the curb.

This is now a favorite tutorial! You have done an excellent job explaining everything as you go along. I am inspired to try it. Thank you! As for mail delivery in the US it is really quite varied - one of the houses I lived in had a vertical box just to the side of the front door, one house had a slot in the door (still does), one had the big horizontal tube-like box at the edge of property near the street (so the mail carrier just drove up and put the mail in the box) and finally now we live in an area where the neighborhood has several larger boxes with individual compartments with locked doors where we get our mail (each house is assigned a compartment in the box and given the key.) These are my mail box experiences in 3 states.
