You are most welcome. Thank you for your kindness and for subscribing and connecting to my channel. There are numerous factors to consider when painting oil on paper. I use a high grade quality of oil and paint on kraft paper (approx 190GSM ++) High grade oil paint tend to have a better ratio between pigment and oil. Using high quality materials is the key in most creative pursuits……Here are some additional key factors to consider: 1. Surface Preparation, sealing and priming helps with the halo effect. 2. Quality of cardboard, thickness reduces warping and oil absorption. 3. Acid Free cardboard ensures longevity. 4. Type of Oil paint: From my experience cheaper oil paints have a higher oil content. Opt for paint with lower oil content. 5. Application technique: Start with think layers and then build texture on your second or even third layer…….Hope this helps. My pleasure. No, not at all. The oil paint has substantial oil and a good oil to pigment ration, which makes it feel buttery. Any addition of medium would make the feel of the paint too slippery and oily. For me personally if the paint is too oily , then it makes it difficult to layer and blend. I primarily work with oil paint and am less familiar with acrylics. My preferred technique involves painting wet-into-wet, as I enjoy the buttery texture of oil paint and their slow drying time.

I don't look at the brand as much as their flexibility, shapes and sizes. And the type you decide on is predicated on your style and how you like you paint. I know this isn't specific, however it comes down to your personal technique. There are pros and cons. I don’t use liquin medium. The only medium that I might utilise from time to time , primarily for tinting is “old Masters Flemish Maroger” However this is on a rare occasion.. A pro would be that Liquin can accelerate drying time, minimise brushstrokes, increase transparency etc…..I prefer to work wet-into-wet and a slow drying time and with my personal technique, I don’t find much use for it. I have found that using high quality oil paints reduces the need to use mediums. Hope this helps.
