In this video, BMW How-To shows you how to pair the BMW interior mirror with integral garage door opener. This accessory is an integrated universal remote control integrated in the interior mirror and replaces the standard interior mirror.

I bought the mirror as an Aftersales Accessory for my X1 and it works perfectly! Additionaly the frameless design of the mirror is awesome!

For BMW USA 2020 and earlier models, you must HOLD the button on the mirror while programming.

what if I do not want to erase the two already programmed buttons and porgram only third button to a new gate opener?? So tired of searching but no one has such a basic video or answer..I I erase all the two then it is a night mare to go to the garage doors to program them again

@@fresco4500 that’s not correct. Maybe in the US, but that’s certainly not the case everywhere else in the world. This wasn’t on my previous 6 Series Coupe nor on my 8 Series Coupe (UK).

I fitted my G20 with this mirror and it was succesfully programmed with two different garage doors (green LED). However neither of those can be opened. The LED looks good but it isn't opening the door. My car dealer says the car must be coded. I don't believe it. Something else is wrong. Any help here from BMW official?

sad that i cant specify this feature to mirror to 1er, 2er, 3er, x1, x2... and it's sadder that universal remote have self electronic circuit required only power, because is third party controller, so don't understand why can't order during specification...

I have noticed lately, when I return from a trip and press the button my mirror, the garage door does not open. I have to use my handheld remote sometimes to open the door. Once I am inside and press the button on the mirror, it closes the door!! Does anyone know why my X3 seems to forget it's paired with my garage?

If it is able to close your door once inside the garage, then it hasn’t forgotten the garage code. It sounds like you may be out of range while you’re outside.

And if that it’s true, then find and extend the built in antenna - it will probably look like a small piece of insulated wire. It’s a bit delicate, so handle with care. Uncoil it a bit and let it hang. It should then get a better signal and if signal strength was the issue this should correct it. This will not apply if your garage door or the walls of your garage contain a grounded faraday cage (copper screen, for instance, with a wire to earth) as this will block most if not all radio signals

Mein GTO-Spiegel lernt zwar den Öffner an und die LED leuchtet grün, das Tor bewegt sich aber nicht. Ich bin seit Wochen mit der Niederlassung und dem Technischen Service dran, aber noch keine Lösung! Aktueller Stand ist, ich brauche ein anderes Test-Tor mit 868MHz denn wenn BMW das testet wird das Unsummen kosten, so die Aussage! Es nervt einfach, einen schicken 200 Euro Spiegel im Auto zu haben, und trotzdem noch die Garagentor-Fernbedienung im Auto haben zu müssen!
