I took the test not too long ago and I failed bad because of arithmetic reasoning but everything else was solid. Gotta retest again. Guys don’t sweat it, most of the questions on mathematical knowledge is basic algebra like algebra 1 and pre algebra nothing crazy and beyond like calculus and that other crap. And the arithmetic reasoning questions ask u like percentage, fractions, age and compound/simple interest questions and a little more. As long as you know the commons sense, key words and basic math formulas for arithmetic then you’ll be fine which I am studying for at the moment . Also in some questions (not all) when you are taking the test and on the math portion use the multiple choice to help figure out your answers like if you came up with a answer for your problem but don’t see it in the multiple choice and there’s a multiple choice answer as close to your answer but aren’t the same due to it being a negative or positive or having a decimal or whatever but really close then that’s your answer and use the the multiple choice to help figure out your calculations in some questions just in case too. It helped me. I recommend the McGraw hill ASVAB book and some of grammar heroes videos, study all the basic algebra and basic math like fractions, decimals, percentages, converting and more and your arithmetic reasoning topics that you’ll need to know and the basic formulas and common sense for it from those 2 sources. Don’t study geometry it’s pointless it’s mostly algebra and basic math procedures like fractions and more. Last tip when you are studying a certain topic I highly recommend go on google to search for practicing questions and practice because practice makes perfect because if you learn a topic and not practice it out then you’ll forget how to do it. Practice until you get used to it. Good luck 👍🏾
@@los__unicos2777 thank you! Also if you are trying to study arithmetic reasoning I also highly suggest going on union test prep. Go on the practice test and click a wrong answer and see how the question is broken down to get that answer, be familiar with the kind of story format, key words, common sense and math formula to get that answer. Someone in the marines I know told me to do the same thing because that’s how he pass. So just break down those 50 questions and have that idea inside your head so that way when you run into a problem like that on the test then you’ll know what to do. Arithmetic reasoning is basic math in word problems, a little bit of algebra in it too but mostly basic math like adding, multiplication, dividing, fractions, percentages, order of operations and a little bit of more. And don’t sweat it on math knowledge part it’s all basic algebra nothing extreme and beyond. Good luck to you too!
@@mannyprays1164 no problem. Mathematical knowledge is all basic pre algebra and algebra 1 while arithmetic reasoning will ask you to solve basic pre algebra, algebra 1, fractions, percentages, ratios, rates, converting and a little more in word problems but the percentages, fractions, basic algebra and ratios is the most common ones on the arithmetic you’ll be seeing from what I heard so just to give you heads up. Good luck
Hey, I'm glad that you made it 😊 but I am worry about the test. It's 2022 and I am about to take the adverb test for the Navy and I need help inother to pass the test.
I literally have to retake this test today because my scores expired and I felt anxious at first because I talked to both the Army and Space Force and I scored high enough for the Army practice test but I needed to score even higher for the Space Force. Im glad this popped up in my feed and thank you for your insight and recommendation 🤯👍
So I toke the test today I made a 14 😩😫 I’ve been semi studying but after seeing the 14 I didn’t cry I joined mr.Andy’s class and I’m waiting for the material .. I don’t wanna give up because I really want this thanks for the tips !! I am definitely making a lot of adjustments I plan on going back in November because I would like to be enlisted before the end of this year
I am going to the army too and was wondering how to score high and lucky you came across I am 18 years old and I never been so happy to come across ASVAB content like this thank you for the tips too
The math part isn’t that hard. It’s literally just basic algebra, geometry, factorial, and probabilities that you learned in middle school. The only downside is that you can’t use a calculator. Its easy to forget how to do long division and multiplying fractions without a calculator so that’s why it’s important to actually study and learn how to do math problems without it. Once you can do it by hand then it’s a walk in the park. And this is coming from someone who raised his score up from a 22 to a 55. Good luck to you all!
Im taking mine next week, this is going to be my 3rd time to take it. The first time i scored 22 then the 2nd time i scored 23. I've been studying math and I'm having a hard time for the word knowledge because english is my second language. I wanna join the navy, the minimum score to get in the navy is 26, but ever since I failed 2 times, I've been doubting myself. But I'm keeping my hopes up! I'm going to wear that Navy uniform soon!
Mannnn I failed the test 3 times since I ain’t been in school for good few years and didn’t have someone to really explain anything at all to me. Until I found Andy too😂. It takes time tho fr you can’t just study for a few days and be like oh damn I got this tho fr. It’s hard when you forget most of the stuff. Just make sure you go through the parts you can’t or don’t understand. And make sure you askkkk your questions fr he’ll explain it so simple and make sure you understand it. Good luck to everyone who’s gonna be taking and nice video
Congratulations👏👏 🎊 first time I got a similar score. I really want to join up although I have a tough time studying. Really feel stuck but it's good to see your progress 👍👍
I'm taking the ASVAB at MEPS one hour away from me. Man i've been studying for every single day and learned so much but I'm lowkey nervous because I wanna pass this and I want to get in so bad now to become an Airman! How difficult would you say is the OFFICIAL ASVAB TEST?!
Look up Grammar Hero on RU-vid. He gives amazing free information you need to pass the asvab. If it wasn't for Grammar hero I would've failed my math section.
How do I get InTouch with ANDY because i wrote the ASVAB and failed, want to try again but need serious tutoring. how can you help me so he can prepare me? Thanks
I scored 57 on thr Picat, I went to Meps to take the verification and I failed, they put me on a full asvab I scored 30 and I only need 1 more to pass for the Marines
Please give me some tips how to pass this test 🙏🏼😭 I cut off some people and I’m not even going out because I’m trying to focus on my future and I need to pass this
@@Pretty90k yes I’m doing 5 days a week 4 hours but I’m really bad with math and I will be taking the test at the end of the month I’m nervous but I feel more confident about it
@@NadineMoreno-hd6tf you should feel confident cause you got it this time ….Good luck try to just relax when taking the test and dont worry about the time
@@Pretty90k how do I get the book I live in Illinois? I failed the first time in got a 6 I don’t want to take it again unless I know I’m ready I need that book 😭
Is it true that the AFQT, counts more for the overall average of the exam, that general science and electronics and all those don't account much, is that true?
arithmetic, mathematical, word knowledge and paragraph comprehension are the only 4 sections that make up your AFQT score .. the rest of the sections doesn’t necessarily count. if you do well on those sections that’s great but if you don’t it won’t hurt your score
Is there a specific topic for each class? I work from 7am to 7pm so I'll have to attend on my 2 days off... I'm not sure how that's going to work I just need help with math x:
I wrote the asvab first time i got 10 so i went to meps today to retake it got 25😭😭 was a bit hard but yeah I'm taking the asvab class in the army but idk if I'm going to do the enlistment the contract and swearing stuff idk if i can do that even tho i will retake the asvab in the army
@@Pretty90k what do you mean is the test easier in the computer? My real struggles are really just the math sections and the word knowledge part so I’m trying to get that straight before I schedule my date
