Jen, would you recommend final frontier to someone who’s been out of pta for two years now. I’ve failed my test 4x so I’ve just taken a break from it because I was afraid to keep spending the money and lose attempt while trying.

There are so many courses to choose from!! Which one specifically did you pay for?

Carter Moses I take my test in April and was wondering did you use the ACE course and if so do you feel like it really made a difference in you being prepared?

@@valarietaylor2693 So I actually did not end up using ACE. I studied from the prep book, then used books and power points from class. I also purchased 2 extra practice exams from the scorebuilders site, and I purchased the PEAT practice exams. I felt like taking all the practice exams and going over the questions that I missed and the ones that I got right was really helpful. I really recommend talking all the practice exams you can. Doing this will give you a understanding on what the exam is looking for. I just found out today that I passed, and the practice exams really helped me feel comfortable going in taking the exam. Also if I can pass this exam then anybody can if they put in the time and effort. Let me know if you need any other advice

Another question is what did you after you got accepted into the program that summer. I just got accepted and I’m trying to figure out ways to prepare ahead of time.

@@ToniWallace. I honestly just did the checklist my pta program said to do! It required getting shots and just being prepared with what they wanted. You will definitely have more insight after your first day!

Honestly, I don’t think I knew anyone that worked full time. I knew a few that worked part time but I will let you know it will be very difficult to be in a PTA program and work a full time job. I wouldn’t recommend it! Part time is possible though. Especially if you work weekends and nights. That’s my opinion. I hope that helps! 👍

I studied for about 2 months and received a 597 (fail.. and 1 question behind passing!) :( But, this time I will work hard and get an even better score. Thank you for video and for giving me hope.

Honestly, we had a few presentations, but ours were really laid back. The thing that was most nerve racking for me was demonstrating treatments in front of the class! There’s not too much of public speaking in school (at least in my class). That being said, when you are out in the field and treating people one on one, it is important to be able to love people and communicate effectively ☺️ I hope that helps and makes sense!

Most of my coworkers agree that this is the worst time to be a PTA or other therapist and their whole careers.

@@AC-jp1lm Medicare cuts, partly due to fraud and greed. Look up Medicare pdpm and 85% reimbursement rate for PTA.

akajazzy12300 I studied A LOT. Haha probably to a fault. I am a terrible test taker and it really helped me to go over concepts pretty much every day! I hope that helps!

Ben Baker my advice is to take as many practice exams as possible! Especially if you aren’t getting above 65% on the practice tests!

Danielle Stuller yes I do, it’s the last year edition.

Gods Child from my understanding is...CMS made changes to Medicare/Medicaid. Because of this new law PTA’s are being affected. Two of my friends who work in a skilled nursing facility said that their hours are being cut. One that works as a PRN (as needed)... her pay had been cut and she is having trouble getting shifts. I haven’t heard of many changes going on in outpatient settings. I still need to do more research. But yes, PTA’s are being affected.

I’m not sure! I think having the most updated version is probably helpful. I didn’t use an older Scorebuilders though so I can’t really say!

Definitely check your grades with the practice tests first and see how you do! If you get above a 70% on the practice ones in Scorebuilders then you should be good 👍

I have not had any issues finding work! My husband is in the military as well so I’ve now had to find a job in VA and Hawaii. There are lots of options everywhere :) hope that helps!
