My employer only gave me a week for my life exam. I didn’t even get half way into the course materials 🥴 Did my test yesterday and scored 2 points away from passing though 😩 I’ll be redoing it this weekend. Wish me luck guys. Also in NY.
Update: I passed the 2nd time I took the exam. My advice is to create a schedule for studying and stick to it. Figure out your learning style/s and stick to it. I found a number of RU-vid videos on the topics (options, riders, etc) and watched them over and over. Last but not least pray… it works! 😄
Yes my employer only gave us a week too. Used Kaplan as well. Kept doing the Q-bank tests and kept adding a chapter to each quiz. So started with chpt 1-3 then added chpt 4 and up to the quiz
Thank you for your feedback Sarah It really did help me I had to figure out something because I’ve taken exams before where it was not verbatim based on the study materials so you definitely have to outsource
Are you able to get an extension, I just did my second 30-,day extension. I think it's worth it, especially as a mother, parent who needs a little more time. If you are in Kaplan, go to your course settings and scroll down until you see, "need an extension" you have an option for 30 or 90+days extension.

A habit that many RU-vidrs and others who record videos for social media have is looking at themselves, INSTEAD of their audience, Yes, the tiny dot by the red light, yes, US! You look Great! Hi Stacy, i would say if you don't plan to sell insurance it may not be necessary. It may be extra work on your end and extra studying.. Once you apply for your licenses after you pass (based on the state) it will ask what you are applying for. The best way to know for sure is to check with your state department of financial services
hey girl! so i take my p&c exam tmrw. i have been taking the practice exams on kaplan & i also bought the psi practice test. would you say the questions that were asked were more similar to kaplan or psi?
Yeah I’m only getting a week to study and I honestly don’t feel prepared 😅 its taken me a minute to get back into the habit of studying on top of it just being so much information to try to retain and this whole week was a struggle. I may try the pre-licensing exam today since my start date is supposed to be tomorrow to begin work before taking the state exam
was any of your exams 155 questions? When I took my exam it ended up being 155 questions and I was so confused because every practice test i took and even when you search it its 150 questions. Is this maybe a new test or did i take the wrong test and have no idea?
If memory serves me correctly im thinking you maybe referring to the first five BS questions they ask in the beginning like the pre test ? I feel like they were included with the actual test ….also it just may vary upon the state it was definitely 150 here in NY plus those few questions in the beginning
Hi Jenny , thank you for commenting….the math required is very basic if any at all as your main job would be to use quote your clients with pricing. Reading comprehension and the will and ability to help others I will say is the real necessity
CPP is definitely weird .. I believe they did ask like only 2-3 questions for the NY exam ….I can say this how it’s explained with the text book stuff doesn’t feel how it actually is in real life
That is definitely interesting but I would say it means that you knew the material… or the random generated test that proc for you happen to just be very familiar material 😊
On the Kaplan website it gives the option to print or choose the online course. Did you choose the online course & it still allowed you to print as well ?
Hello dear , I don’t believe the package I had contained videos … there were quite a few to chose from so I do believe you could choose to have videos for studying material

That’s a great question Annette, personally I think in person is better, both of my exams (p&c and life) was done in person at the testing center simply because I had paper and it didn’t seem as stressful with someone constantly watching over you online .. if you so much as look the wrong way while you’re online they can fail you or make you start over because they think you may be cheating. In person they ask you to leave all your devices and only carry a pencil/pen and they leave you be
