try turning you Treo off and on. sometimes the IR may lock up on PDA/phones.

Adult's can't transform into a different tamagotchi. But if you have a change deco pierce or download the recent Sanrio or Ciao VDP+ you can change certain tamagotchis at the change destination. see mrblinky.net/tama/vdp/#vdp-plus for more info about the new VDP+

You can't patch any Tamagotchi Mix to English. let alone download any stuff onto it except from Mix stations in Japanese stores

Sounds like you got a good deal. since the release of my English patches prices of the P's have increased fast. I should have bought a few more before I released then :/

I actually remember seeing 2 P's a couple of weeks ago for about 35€ (I don't exactly remember) used, one with the Royal and one with the Love and Melody, sadly I got my money recently and I lost the chance to get them, but still, I bought one in 2014 for much cheaper, I think the patch did make the P's more expensive and some people are even selling already patched P's, it's sad that they're so goddamn expensive but still, they're still cheaper than an English iD L and what you did with the patch was awesome, the P's is still the best version to this day so I get why they sell so much, but I still need to complete the pierce collection, such a shame that some pierces got so freaking expensive as well

Sorry not anytime soon :/ They made it more difficult to patch and then there are all those different versions of the mix ... :x

Unfortunately not. The 4U has no infrared, just NFC.

Not likely at the moment. The tamagotchi mix versions do not support downloads from regular IrDA devices. I need to change this first.

To check if all 4 patches are installed: Go to the park. When the speech bubbles are English then EP004 is installed. Go to tamadepa or tamamori. when the built in items are english then EP003 is installed. Go to the hearth icon and select download. If the connect messages are English then EP002 is installed. When the menu items are English EP001 is installed. If not all patches are installed. Go to the website, read the info and download the patches.

Stephanie Cheng yes it is recommended to do a full reset so everything will be in English. But you don't have to if you don't want to . some content like diary entries and items remain Japanese though

Ashley Inked You may have to do a full reset. Also, the deco pierces are not affected by this patch, so it is recommended to use Virtual Deco Pierces (VDP+) instead of physical ones. I'm pretty sure deco pierces are patchable (though I'm not sure if there's a patching guide for those), but I think it's better to go with the software solution.

The meets uses modified IrDA that isn't compattible with normal IrDA devices.

Yes the prob is I connect first the tmgc to USB so the icon will appear then after a seconds the tmgc will turn in " x" disconnect then the icon in my laptop will be gone too.. that link doesn't work for me. It's normal it will disconnect fast (3 seconds) what you need to do is: Make a connection and quickly click the Infrared icon on the desktop so you can browse to the download you want to transfer and select it. BUT don't ckick ok or hit enter. Wait for the connnection is lost and the icon in the taskbar is gone too. Connect the tamagotchi again and as soon as you see icon/get a notification, click the OK button or hit enter key to transfer the download.

You need to download the .zip files and extract the .jpg using a computer. After that you can transfer them over bluetooth or a data cable. If you have an MMC card you can also put the files on that and insert the MMC/SD card in your Nokia if it supports MMC/SD

Sorry they don't work on the Tamagotchi mix or any other color Tamagotchi but the Tamagotchi P's

Yes you need a sim card to start up the phone.But it doesn't need to be an active sim. You can use one that is expired too. Note that some phones are carrier locked. In that case the sim needs to be from a certain carrier

Unfortunately not. The only way to send downloads to the M!X atm is with a custom IR device or by a patch. I'm exploring both ideas.

+Daniel Aleman If you have a Mac Compatible USB IrDA dongle. Then yes you can. the patches like all other downloads for the P's are jpg images with an extra data block attached.

For all of those people but one, I get annoyed. I see them as greedy scammers. They are not sharing any of their profits they make and their victims are unaware that they're paying for something that is free. If that isn't bad enough, some of those people even ask me for help fixing a 'friends' tamagotchi.

I used a nokia 6230i. I recommend using one of these older nokia's with IrDA and bluetooth. Nowadays I use a Japanese Sharp Aquos smartphone as it's got both IrDA for the P's and NFC for the 4U.

No. It doesn't have infrared file transfer afaik.

No, but it is prefered. You can use any device that can transfer files over infrared (IrDA) You can use a USB dongle, old laptop, or PDA too. but are less friendly in use. Note that you can not use phones or USB devices with just a infrared remote control function.
