Hi, as someone who has been out of the vpet hobby for several years, I am amazed at how far these guys have come. I am trying to decide on which version to get when I have money saved up, and was wondering your opinion. Your videos are great, and very helpful! Colour, cuteness, interactivity, and preferably English are my top concerns heh I had considered trying to find an IDLE, but they're practically nonexistent and ridiculous expensive. I am liking a lot of what I'm seeing of the Ps though, but I don't think my cell phone does infared for the patches, and already patched ones are also insanely expensive from what I've seen. I thought I saw that a patch for the 4Us may have been considered, but it's hard to find recent information. May I ask what you suggest? I don't have the money for one any time really soon, but like to do my research in advance, so I know what price range I'm saving for. Thank you!

first off i love your videos! they are fun and helpful so ty ^^ i got a usb and it didnt work. so i bought the palm treo 700w and it wont recognize the tamagotchi so i never even have the option to send it :( the phone was cheap, 15 bucks. is there any other phone you know of that is cheap too and actually works? my hope of ever downloading stuff to my id l is darkening >

hi, i'm just wondering why you needed to look the version (by looking at the character)? does it have anything to do with the installation of the english patch? also, is there any way of sending the patch to the tamagotchi without the phone.. since i don't have a phone with the infrared function anymore.... :/ thanks for your time :D
Hi @RaTamaZone I just bought a tamagotchi P and IDL both english versions. I have an approved infrared phone and it connects with the tamagotchi but is unable to send custom wallpapers etc through. I think this is because its the english version is there anywhere I can download the english wallpapers and games for IDL e and tamagotchi P from ? would greatly appreciate the help its driving me crazy! Love your videos by the way :)
is it possible to use the pierce system to download the patch? Pluging a cord into your computer and your tamagotchi p and using it like a pierce is it possible?

Hi Ra, If I recall correctly the creator of this patch mentioned that he had to remove or alter certain graphics in the game to make space for all of the translations - have you noticed this affecting gameplay in anyway? Thanks in advance.
Hello there. As far as I know, he hasn't removed anything. He's simply "replacing" the existing ones with new ones. This process is fully reversible, if you should wish to go back to Japanese.

But, when i viewed the downloads i didn't know one to download... so would you please tell me which patches to download????
We do not have a infrared phone can you suggest a infrared usb adaptor? We have a Nokia phone and an iphone 4 (no service) will any of these work with the adaptor? We want to patch our Tamagotchi Ps.
Valerie Bain I was able to find a Nokia 5200 on eBay for about $20. I don't know anything about using USB adapters but I've read they're tricky to use. tamatalk.com would have better info than me on that

@RaTamaZone do you think Polish phones with infrared will connect to my P's? I live in Poland and recently bought a P's and as soon as I heard of the patch I thought of getting an infrared phone to download the patch to my P's since I read somewhere on a Polish Tamagotchi forum that Polish IR adapters wouldn't connect to P's.
ASDFiniteProductions\(^_^)/ I don't think that makes any difference. Any IR capable device can beam stuff over. You might be thinking about the 4U and its NFC technology.
Hello Mr.Ra, I just recently purchased a tamagotchi P and of course it's in Japanese. I don't have a Nokia phone for the English patch. I just have an HP laptop, a tablet, and a Samsung. Will any of those work to download said patch?
That depends on if the Divice have a real IR beam the samsung ones like s4 mini up to note 4 only using a poor beam which only supports using ur phone as a remote you can not use these for sending data but the IR beams can purchased very cheap on ebay for about 5 bucks check it out and then u can use your pc for the patches or if you are interessted i already have a converted blue one i ordered white and blue but iam running the white one just send me a mail or something if you are interested in buying or maybe u send me your ps i translate it and send it back i swear i will not keep it ;) happy easter. Sascha Kühn I just bought 2 of these tamagotchi's for my children, not know they aren't in english. I am trying to figure out what to do? My children have ipads and I have a chrome book. Will any of this work for the the english patch? Need help! Thank you
Colleen Gorman it will not work because u need an IR Port for sending the patches to the tamas i dont think the crome book has a build in thing but maybe you can try purchasing an aditional ir reciever/sender (whatever :P) to send it from the chromebook but you can totaly forget about the ipad this apple crap is yljust for using itself and other apple products no thirt party apps or accesorys will work

RaTamaZone I just got 2 of these in the mail for my kids. Did not realize that they were not in english. Watched your video on how to patch to english but I have to start from scratch. Do not have any old phones. What is my best and cheapest way to convert them?
It isn't Bandai that has come out with the English patch for the P's. It was undertaken by Mr. Blinky, as a community project. It took countless hours of translating each and every aspect one by one. The project took well over a year. Therefore, this isn't something that anyone can undertake lightly or just because.
RaTamaZone hey, just a quick question, do american rechargeable batteries work fine in Tamagotchi P's ( I use eneloop batteries ) if you know please tell me asap, thanks :)
The instruction booklets specifically say NOT to use rechargable batteries, so I never have. I'm not sure why the warning is there. Perhaps it harms the unit somehow.
If you put in a Japanese name and then patch it will it stay in Japanese, and if you reset it after the English patch will it delete/ if it stays will it give me a seven letter name option?
No it wont. It will stay the same and the only way it will change to japanese is to download a patch that takes it away. So that means that even if you reset it or delete the patch it will stay english :)
RIGHT. I hate this obvious gender specific direction they're going for with tamagotchi. I remember when I was young and really enjoyed trying to raise the coolest looking tamagotchis. They had a bunch of different shaped tamagotchis that all looked unique and now they're almost(if not all) bipedal Jpop plushie looking things. They're trying way too hard to be Hello Kitty. 😑 And as for the shells, they're definitely now exclusively designed for girls(and some boys not judging lol). Why can't they make some that looked like the tamagotchi connection type designs. Those looked badass and had shell designs for both genders.
I have a question, does the phone need to be connected with a telephone company? Can i buy a Nokia off eBay and then connect it to my home wifi, download the files and transfer to the tamagotchi? Thanks for the great video!
