THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video! We arrived to Germany this past August without our cute little hound dog and unfortunately had to leave her behind in the states after being failed by the military rotator and airlines weren't even letting dogs fly on cargo, and having personal pet shipping companies costing over $5K. It's now November and we still didn't have a plan until I came across this video. I'm now going with feathers & fur as they are indeed more affordable and helpful. Hopefully, we will have our dog by the end of this month with us in Germany.
Hi! A little random but I just wanted to get your permission to copy/paste a screenshot of your incredibly generous comment for my website? I hope all is well with you, the pup, and the rest of the family! Thanks
No problem! Thanks for watching! If you want another quote, I have a trusted travel agent here who specializes in military travel to/from US and overseas (including pet travel). Great video and wonderful information. I have to fly my cats to Ramstein in the Feb/Mar timeframe and have been stressing about the transfer because it's just me but this video convinced me to pay the cost and use a shipper to simplify the process. Thank you!
Good for you to not dumping your pet because of having to move! Pets are family the unconditional love they give us is priceless Good tip about starting to save for the move back! Moved 16 times ( over a span of 30 years ) from coast to coast, continent to continent, each time with our pets. At one point had 4 cats/one 125 lbs dog when we moved back to Fl Its doable, and worth every penny. We are moving again in a couple of months and see things changed somewhat! Already contacted the carrier for my furr babies! Thanks for sharing! Even as a seasoned PCS'er still need the tips as things change constantly!
Your husband could have flown commercial. You just needed to do a memo stating there was not room on PE (rotator) for your pet. The memo is signed by an O6 (officer) you then take that back over to SATO and off you go. KNowledge is power and it is all in the transportation regulation.
She really did not do her homework!!!!! ALWAYS attend the PCS briefings with your Service Member. The best Vet to use is on post (military) SO MUCH CHEAPER and you get the completed paperwork before you leave the on post vet. She went all around the world and did not have to. As long as the pets arrives within and before the 10 day health certificate expires you are good. That shipper was just doing the most LOL
Unfortunately no. However, the general information I provide about pet restrictions in Germany apply to anyone traveling with a pet into the country. Also, the international pet shipping company I speak about serves anyone, not just military. I hope that helps.
If you're moving to Germany you're limited to two pets (two cats, two dogs, or a combination). If you are bringing more than two, you have to submit an exception to policy for approval. You can learn more about this in my pet blog: www.dtvdanieltelevision.com/2020/02/04/pcs-to-germany-with-pets/
Omgggg!! This is awesome!! I'm leaving for Germany at the end of next month and didn't receive until last week he wasn't on my flight information. Unfortunately, all the seats for pets were booked. So the next step was looking how am I gonna get my goofy standard goldendoodle to Germany with me. So I just requested a quote. I'm praying I am successful. Thank you so much for this information!! To add that the Army now reimburses up to $2,000. Thank you for giving me a peace of mind as I transition to Germany. 🙌🏽🫶🏽🙏🏽
Thanks for watching! I hope they’re able to help you out 😊 And yes, don’t forget to save receipts 🧾for that reimbursement! Some branches actually require you to put your pets on orders to get money back 😬 I go over some of the details here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VkP99xZbisQ.htmlsi=c0kirXSmMEncKm_h
