Was shaving your head an emergent strategy? Because it really suits you! lol, now on to the video...

This peak works amazingly for me. Thanks so much. The past two cycles I've added 10-15kg each lift over e1RM during the cycle. Even for bench this most recent cycle. Other long tapers seem to just detrain me completely.

Ey Mike, are you going to do an online course of emerging strategies? I would buy it for sure, thank you for all of this stuff

We currently have one, but you have to complete the intro level RTS Classroom courses first. We plan to restructure the class soon to put ES concepts earlier in the curriculum.

Thanks for sharing Mike. Why do you choose to do so, while so many other coaches keep this type of information to themselves?

How does this not even has a hundred tumbs-up? It's such great Information. I just didn't yet get the hang about how to know how much exposures it takes for an athlete to peak? Is it just monotoring an athletes performance, looking out for when it is on ist "peak"?

Yes, primarily via monitoring their e1RM on comp lifts.

Hey Mike I've listened to several emerging strategies podcasts and I think I get the basic ideas but im . I would love to hear more on the week to week level and what tactics you use to implement the emerging strategy

Hi Mike, I'm still not exactly clear on this peaking approach. So you take 2-3 days off training right before comp. If my TTP is 7, and I compete on a Sunday, would I try and get my Week/Exposure 6 training done at the beginning of the week of the competition? For example, et's say I normally train Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri, and exposure to main lifts occur on Mon and Tues. In week 6, would I perhaps train Mon/Tues/Thurs, and then rest and compete on Sunday (technically still in week 6, but after 6 exposures)? So I've essentially just cut my fourth session out in week 6, and then compete?

Yes. If your TTP is 7, then you want the comp to be the 7th exposure and as close to a normal timing as is reasonable. Then we'll rest 2-3 days prior to that just to make sure short term fatigue is low. So yes... in the 6th exposure, you'd train Mon/Tue and possibly Thu... rest Fri, Sat... compete on Sun.

Hi, I don't understand why for most of people you don't recommend a tapper/deload before a meet or 1RM test. Even if after X number of exposure the lifter hit a max, he's still carrying some fatigue from the developmental block and doing a tapper would reduce this fatigue and allow him to perform better. (I don"t mean a 12weeks taper but 1-3weeks just do reduce fatigue) What is you opinion on this point of view? Thanks.

I think a good place to start is no-taper. It's reliable. Since tapers introduce a new variable, they need to be optimized as well. It's not as simple as reducing fatigue for better performance as some people seem to be very volume sensitive. You need the right combination of reduced stress and training to keep performance high. So in the absence of this information, you can skip that part and peak when your body is ready. But if you have time and can investigate it, I think that's a good idea.

Ok thank you. I understood in the video that you don't thing taper are useful, now I understand your point of view better. Thank you for the answer. PS: I'm interested in a ES classroom too by the way.

So is there any correlation between the number of exposures /time to peak in athletes and the weight class and/or sex of the athletes? I don't remember that being talked about in the emergent strategies talk you gave.

Not that I have seen.

Is emerging strategies also a system for early intermediates?
@ReactiveTrainingSystems
@ReactiveTrainingSystems 6 лет назад
I'd honestly use it for anybody. It's a way of programming more than a tactic. I'm sure someone will worry about beginners needing proficiency or something else and I'd agree -- but you can easily account for that need in an ES framework.
