Hello Brandon, Good Question. The Hardin marine stainless pumps are good, But I don't think they are good specifically for the 8.2's. The reason for that is how the bolt holes line up. 8.2 Water pumps cannot be done traditionally like this engine, as if you undo the bracket for the water pump, It pulls a seal out of the engine. So you have to split the pump with the bracket on. Mercruiser pumps have really good tolerance on their bolt holes, Hardin Marine is so-so. If it were any other engine, I would say pull the trigger. Hopefully pretty soon I will have a video on how to do service on an 8.2 up so you can understand better what I am talking about.

I think it can be done diy with a few simple tools, and a power steering pulley tool, which can be rented from autozone. I believe the part number is 8M0140001.
