This actually helped me out about a week or two ago when my LO choked on a noodle! I got the noodle out almost instantly! Before this video I had no clue as to what to do
No words can express how grateful I am for this video! I watched this when my son started solids ... well today Nov.30 my one year old started chocking on a piece of mango! I rushed him into position and after 20 of the longest seconds of my life the fruit came out !! I thought I was going to lose my baby boy and I would have if it were not for this video ! Thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Omg I’m so glad he’s okay!!! 🥺🙏🏽 I am so scared because I’ll be nannying for a 10 month old next week and she has no teeth but she’s already eating real food! I get nervous every single time she swallows. You’re so brave for saving your son’s life!
So glad your child is okay! I saw a video of a baby choking (fortunately survived) and i started crying. I cant imagine the trauma and stress you mustve felt
Ok, someone has to say it. I'll be the bad guy. "May I never need this, Lord. Amen." Otherwise you're saying may you never need this Lord and/or Amen. No need to thank me.
good call. when i worked in customer service there were multiple occasions i had to call an ambulance for someone... one of them was while working in a restaurant also and someone was choking on the after dinner candy.
What can I say, I saw this video a few days back when I decided to give my 7 month old finger food. So I have her a slice of watermelon, and within less than a second she took a piece and started choking. It was choking not gaging. I could see her right through, I did exactly what the video said. Put her back on my arm and back slapped. While doing this I opened my door and rushed to the neighbors gate. Before they opened my baby chucked out the big piece of watermelon right at there door. The neighbor aunty took her in her arms immediately and pacified me n my baby both, I am thankfully to them for opening their door and helping us out. I am forever grateful for their humanity. May God bless them. But for THIS video. What can u say. Thank heavens, Thank God, Thankyou Almighty for making this watch this video. I just watched it for knowledge sake and never thought I would need it. How wrong was I. I needed it just after few days. Thank you thank you thank you, I am still shaking and my baby is fine. You have truly saved my baby and me. God bless you. I can't thank you enough. For any new parent watching plz watch this video it can be helpful you never know when.
@@karibetz3534 yep that’s what has led me here. I’m watching my 7 month old grand baby and my daughter is totally going Baby Led Weaning, I’m gonna say I’m old school and am not 100% with this yet, it’s very scary. So I’m gonna watch all the videos I can and maybe even take a class
@@chrisjurgens5375 my son is 8 months old and he is a pro at eating now. My mother is also not totally onboard with baby led weaning. I’m glad you are learning about it😊
Hello. I’m am a child and I’m nine years old. I have two nephews and I’m about to have another nephew. Thanks for the help. Oh and basically I’m watching this video to be prepared for unexpected things happening to a baby. Oh and yes, none of my nephews choked.
3 days ago I was watching this video to know what to do if anything happens to my 13 day old baby and this afternoon we got tested, She was turning red, choking with her saliva it was thick and i did the back slaps and the saliva came out to the mouth and mucus out of the nose but it was a lot so i sucked her nose and she began to breath normally. And 911 arrives. I just want to say thankyou for making this video.
Years ago, it happened to my baby. He was about 2 months old and had a severe choking with breast milk and phlegm. I didn't know what to do. Thank God, I was at my parents' place that day so they inmidiately handled the situation. I was as histeric as MJ's mom. Since my boy wasn't responding to CPR, my dad managed to take a taxi to the ER and kept trying on the way. My babe's face and fingers were blue but, in the middle of the way, my son took a deep breath and started to cry. I remember we got to the hospital 5 min. later and they did some tests on him. The Dr. said we were so close to lose him. It's been 5 years 5 months after that episode and I still can remember his widely open eyes stearing at me like asking me for help and his stiff limbs. I couldn't help him by myself. If my parents hadn't been there... Now, I'm convince that every mom should take CPR lessons during her pregnancy time, just in case. That's a recommendation I give every friend that gets pregnant. Thank you for sharing this highly important video!
I think all parents involved in the upbringing of a child should watch these things. Sometimes mommy isn't around and dad has to handle business when something like this happens. I'm a new father and saw this as a recommended video. It's invaluable knowledge for any person that a child depends on.
So this happened to our 2 week old boy a night ago... I'm pretty familiar with these methods and I can tell you it saved his life. My wife and I panicked like hell, screaming for help 2 in the morning as he went limp. Horrible to go through but its good to have this info... I praise people poating videos like this... thank you
Newborns can strangle on formula or Breast milk especially if they have acid reflux all 3 of my kids including my last which is a newborn all has strangled on formula til they got their medicine worked out for acid reflux but I used those suction balls to sueeze out the milk and clear the air way thats what they use at the hospital for infants choking on milk.
@@paigewaldrop2993 I thought fluids weren't enough to "block" the airway? My baby has had problems with choking on milk and reflux since he was born. Luckily it's slowly getting better. He even choked on his water this evening but coughed it out and is learning. Eating and drinking is a learning process . This seems more geared towards objects or throat clogging foods like hot dogs. I'd love to see the protocol for daily/ weekly mild expected choking WITH coughing in an infant.
Thank you so much for this video. It happens to my newborn baby. I was panicking on that time when look at him turn blue & can’t breathe. I try to call 911 but I can’t maybe because too panic. Then suddenly remember this video & try my best. Lucky he start to breathe again. I’m glad I know this video before it’s happen to me
Im looking into this today as my 2 month old baby was severely choking yesterday morning!! He is good now Glory to God Jesus Christ!! Yes took him to his doctor right after the incident.
My 6 month old son started choking and we all went to panic mode but luckily I instinctively did the back and shoulders slaps and was able to clear the obstruction. I wish I had seen this procedure before so thank you for taking the time to make this.
I'm such a laid back parent with most things but choking is deffinately one of my fears. I often come back to these videos to refresh my knowledge just incase! I have a 1 year old who scoffs down his food like he's never been fed which makes me anxious! He just loves his fruit that he can't get it in fast enough! I hope anyone who reads this never has to use these techniques 💜
My niece was choking on a Peta chip 2 days ago because of classes like this I was able to snap into action and successfully dislodged the chip . It is sooo important for everyone to learn how to do CPR!!
Nonhlanhla Pinzi my baby twin sisters used to choke a lot on milk it was very scary the first time it happened my baby sister turned really red and almost purple but as they grew older they started to choke less and less They almost died by choking more than 4 times they are almost 8 months old hope you and your baby the best
Nonhlanhla Pinzi the first time my baby sister had severe choking she didn't make any sound until she cried it's a very scary experience hope no baby goes through this
Very important. Let me add something I learned in Asia. If the baby is choking of phlegm, the smacking technique won't release the phlegm. You need to suck out the phlegm from the baby's nose or mouth by using your mouth. Then proceed to CPR if needed.
This video saved me a trip to the hospital and maybe worse. My baby ate a leaf and it was stuck in his throat. Luckily I had saved this video after watching it a few times and was able to tilt him down and pat his back till it came out. It was very scary. I’m so thankful for this content! Thank you!
All parent's should watch this video, you never know when you will require. My 7 months old daughter has choked up somehow I managed to clear it. Now watching this video to get correct knowledge. Thanks 😊
This is so important to learn. I know it's almost instinct to want to out your finger down their throat to dislodge the object but there's a much better chance of it being pushed further and getting stuck further. Hopefully you'll never need to use it but it's so good to have this knowledge just in case ☺️❤️
I took a Red Cross short course for cpr and other first aid assistance but I definitely forgot most of it and it’s very important to relearn these life Saving informations.
I remember when my son who was in his terrible threes he swallowed a penny and i heard him chocking,i yelled & cursed, smacked so hard that all keep thinking was "he either dies chocking or by the back slaps i was giving him, penny was not coming out! Me as a 26yr old mother failing at removing this thing i put my 2 fingers in his mouth and reached as deep as i could,i swear my fingers streched cause i grabbed the penny with two fingers and pulled it out and he started to cry cause i scraped his throat with my nail trying to reach but he started to cry and breath, worst experience as a mom...2 weeks later he swallowed a second penny and went through the same nightmare, kid had me traumatized to the point i desired no more children,he is 16 now.
See a penny, pick it up... And shave ten years off your mommas life! (...Wait, that’s not how it goes!) God bless you, momma! I’m glad he’s grown and doing just fine now!
me watching this on my own just in case I'm ever around a baby that's choking and no one else knows what to do. people always want there to be someone around that knows what to do, so I make sure I know just in case no on else does. plus it's just good for everyone to have a well-rounded knowledge of first aid because you never know what life will throw at you until you're knee-deep. cpr, burn care at different degrees, open wound care, concussion care, broken bone care, the basics of all of it are important.
I've been doing baby led-weaning and this video was so helpful when she was choking with a piece of carrot, I had to slap her 4 or 5 times, she was turning red almost blue, thank God for these videos, my baby is alive and thriving! Thank you and God bless everyone with a baby right now, may your kid develop with health and love :) blessings!
I'm 14 and I'm watching this just in case cuz this just happened to my neighbor's child, she came running to our door screaming, fortunately the medics arrived quickly and saved the baby and I'm also about to have a little brother, I'm preparing myself for unexpected things that may happen to my brother. I hope this won't happen to us.
Watching this two weeks before first baby is due. This terrifies me. Thank you for sharing so I can work through this fear in training rather than in real life
I’m CPR Certified and been rusty on this since it’s been a couple of years since I got my certification and never had to use it. I just watched this video a couple days ago In case of anything cus my baby just started eating solid foods. I just want to say THANK YOU! Because my baby girl started chocking today and I was able to save her.
My 2 month old nephew just die last night, he is in another country, I can’t imagine my cousin’s pain as he was hurried today, and I wished they knew this information. Rest In Peace baby Austin Ahrén.
Just Few mintues ago My young baby sister choked from eating hard fried dough food. After successfully letting the object out my mom started crying and at that time I knew if something like this happen again I better be prepared, so I clicked thus video. Helpful. Teach yourself this and I promise you might save someone's life one day❤
Working as a house gal in qatar, a 3yrs old boy swallowed a coin and heard learnt this already, his mum running up and down so i did exactly what you've shown here and saved his life
Thankful that RU-vid allows ppl to make these kind of 'much needed' videos. See, there's still a lot of great things the internet provides. Not all negative.
Great instructional video that’s really simple and easy to understand and follow. The images above the presenter’s shoulder are excellent. The presenter has a really good tone of voice for it too.
Every person should know this, they need to teach this in school. Even if you don't have kids or you're a kid yourself, I'm learning because my my beautiful nephew MILAN, I shared this to every family member just in case.
Very important. Let me add something I learned in Asia. If the baby is choking of phlegm, the smacking technique won't release the phlegm. You need to suck out the phlegm from the baby's nose or mouth by using your mouth. Then proceed to CPR if needed.
I did 4 years ago because the grandson of my boss chocked with the banana and i used the Back slaps but before I did it,I pray to God to help the baby to be save. Thanks God because he was save.AmenThis video was great because my boss have a second baby grandson and I can learn again.
I needed this when my baby was 6 mit his old. She choked on a leaf that I didn’t see on the carpet. I didn’t know what to do so I just reach my hand in her mouth and yanked it out of her throat. Thank god it worked
Thank you for such a video am a new dad to be I was clueless on such incidents to babies bt now am aware and will keep a look out may God keep blessing you for the work you are doing
I hope i will not encounter such situation like this through my entire motherhood....oh god please always protect my daughter from any harmful accidents or events especially that are life threatening...may her guardian angel be with her always 24/7
Thank you very much. I’ve never been taught about CPR or Heimlick at school before, all the things I know about first aid only on Internet. Thanks to this that one day I could help someone in future.
I'm 9!I once had this happend to me about 6 months ago I was choking on a peice of candy and little did I know 911 arrives when I'm fine but I was seriously choking. Good thing I ran out to my dad before I passed out-he did smt but idk what THANK U GOD FOR EVERYTHING U DO
If an object is blocking the airway, how can CPR help? The airway is obstructed. Just trying to understand. I'm CPR certified but I do not remember this being explained.
They don't really say how hard the back slaps should be, they seem pretty hard for a delicate baby. Yet chest thrusts have to be done only with two fingers so as to not to break the ribs. Would be good to have an idea of the pressure required.
It is okay to give a good slap to the baby's back if it is in the correct place. Obviously don't punch your baby but some force is definitely required id say around the same amount or slightly more force than you would use while burping the baby. Except you are using the bottom of your palm rather than your open palm and it needs to be between the shoulder blades. This will not harm the baby. For chest compression you are using two fingers but you are still applying pressure like a hard poke.
I spoke to a nurse about how delicate my newborn is. She told me not to worry about it. They can handle it. My be painful or uncomfortable but they'll live as a result.
