Thank you. This is SO VERY valuable. It was great to learn about how to use the defib on a baby - you should have stripped the baby's top or put the patches under the clothes (but would that compromise the defib operation?) - I am uncertain. Uncertainty is bad. As close to real life - so that people can really understand - is essential. Hard surface - floor is obvious, but many people would struggle to perform CPR on the floor - so a second example of on a table would have been very illustrative. I will be sharing this widely!! Thank you again.

8:04 - how do you know if it's heart that stopped beating vs ineffective breathing? i thought we always check for brachial artery pulse up to 10 seconds prior to compressions

I think your instruction for checking airway for blockage should've been given in both "A" presentations...not just at the end. What if object (bead, pea, ect) is stuck in airway?

Thank you or the informative video. Isn't compression: ventilation ratio 15:2 for the paediatric population?
@cprkids
@cprkids Месяц назад
Hello, the community Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines for paeds is 30:2, however in-hospital guidelines are 15:2. So for the purpose of this video, 30:2 is the correct ratio :)

I was taught not to move the baby's head back, that the eyes look straight up to the sky, so I'm confused.

Is CAB or ABC??is it different in infant and adult?
@cprkids
@cprkids Год назад
Hi! It is ABC within DRSABC - and this acronym is the correct response for infants and adults - it is the actual CPR that differs between infants and adults - does that help?

Those pumps with merely 2 fingers seem too powerful for a baby! Can we get a little lighter or is this the strictest way? Please clarify!
@cprkids
@cprkids 5 месяцев назад
For CPR to be effective, you need to aim for 1/3 depth of the chest each compression - we hope this helps clarify!

@cprkids

Hi! This video is for educational purposes and is not intended for viewing during an emergency - in an emergency it is vital to call emergency services who will get help to you and step you through what you need to do.

I feel that you should have chosen a baby manikin with a life like chest that allows the pads to be attached properly and to look like real life. Your example looks like you are attaching the pads over the clothing instead of bare skin.
@cprkids
@cprkids 2 года назад
I understand, but at the time this was all we had to work with. hence the reason we have the text saying "apply pads to bare skin".

Thank you for making this clear. For lay people at least for me is important to be consistent with instruction. Under stressful situations I don't want to second guess my self.
