Great video. It's funny that the game just lies to the player on how its mechanics actually work. Tekken is full of obtuse stuff like this. Lee has a ton of new Blue Sparks / Just Frames, on top of all his old ones. He's like, Blue Sparks the character. I would be curious to see their ACTUAL windows of execution documented. Some of them feel a lot more lenient than the others. I assume the old ones are still the same windows, like Mist Trap still being 1F timing. But as far as I know, no one has actually fact checked all his Just Frames / Blue Spark windows in Tekken 8 yet, so there might even be some changes to his old windows. The Wavu wiki has breakdowns of some of his blue spark windows in Tekken 7, if you're curious.
Acid Rain and Mist Trap definitely have the most precise timings Stuff like his new b1, b1+2 you just have to not input it crazy fast and you just get it
@@Jetanium Haha I 100% agree. Unfortunately, translation is always an issue no matter what year it is. You should see some of the translated documents the US government puts out today to the public!
In essence, kinda like doing electrics but also pressing all the directional inputs. That last part I didn't know. Thought I only need to time the final input. Thank you for the tip!
So glad you uploaded this video, I played a tiny bit of King in Tekken 7 but I got Tekken 8 on release and took learning him very seriously and made really good progress. I can’t do just about any of his throws without a problem but could not get the Blue Sparks throws down for the life of me. I did it with Giant Swing once and couldn’t replicate it, and there’s basically nothing online until I saw your video
You’ll feel when you do it right and the game will confirm it, Focus on actually hitting every direction in the input and you’ll get it more consistently I usually get it majority of the time when i’m in ranked doing a setup like jab or 2,1 into giant swing. Same with combos, I assume it’s because of the speed required that makes up for doing it too slow.
I actually saw this video in my recommended many times and as a king main Who can consistently do the blue sparks version I figured I knew how to do it. In my mind it was simply do it "fast" I had no idea about these extra requirements. Amazing video.
One thing about the bSW is that it comes out a lot faster from a buffered state then the regular iSW (bSW is basically the true iSW and the "old" iSW from t3-7) and you can do some crazy stuff with it so while bGS and bTT aren't as important the bSW kinda is for max damage combos and mind games
I don't play King (in fact I hate King with passion) but the edit with the dancing digits for 6 directions of Giant Swing made me subscribe to the channel. Keep up the good work! 👊
Beautiful video. King is the champ! I'm gonna try that now. Instant run grab was my difficulty. The giants swing and tornado I didn't no unhad to crouch. Thanks bro. And try law blue spark and lee
5 damage is the difference between a ko and a your opponent input a string that makes him have the Great so do stress about it if you want to be really good every hp counts.
Maybe you could look at Jack-8's Windmill Uppercut. I guess EWGF is a "blue spark" or sorts. Maybe could look in depth for all characters with one and see what you actually have to input
King is a iconic character… and most of us who are casuals who have played Tekken since the beginning = Can’t master him. It’s possible on controller to execute these moves. But it’s far easier if you have an arcade stick otherwise you’ll never hit King’s potential.
Hey, I've been labbing trying to get my consistency down, and I've noticed bSW being slightly easier when buffered. The most recent example is F+2+4 on the 10th frame like this: F+2+4 F, 1f n, 4f F, 4f n, 8f F, 3f n, 9f 2, 5f
It certainly makes it easier because the first forward can be fully buffered! Great for focusing on the really difficult part, which your inputs match!
I mastered all the blue spark grabs except isw, I can’t really get it consistently even though I could get point blank isw in Tekken 7, guess I lost my mojo
Then it must be how running works in this game. It feels different than in 7. Gotta adjust. Also btw great choice on the Lethal League music. @@GelatinLabs
King is built different. Everyone can pick lars, lee, leo, Howa, and specially new characters like victor and smash button to do some super cool lightening and sparkling stuff. King requires basics and patience.
i'm testing this again and it seems like the crouch forward window was reduced to 2 frames? unless i'm doing something else wrong. i swear i was able to get more blue sparks during 1.0
Yo I'm e been looking for a tutorial on how to wr2 blue spark dragunov and the 4 seconds at the end was all I needed. Also this confirms you can't do them while actually running towards your opponents yeah?
Still does, if you do like sidestep 2+4 and start the chainthrow, you can do easy inputs with just pressing 1 or 2, or do the classic inputs which will give blue sparks and more damage in total.
I actually have a video covering how the throw break window changes according to different situations. AND, Blue Spark throws DO have a unique break window (though it's not 10F)!
Aaaand this is why i gave tekken up. All the weird input. Star lol what is star. You have to actually have someone explain it. I just want to fight not master some morse code in input to perform a move
Means neutral, u gotta let go of keys (not pressing any even just for mili seconds) idk what it means yrs ago too and i dont rly play tekken much only offline.
Actually for Blue Spark GS/TT specifically, it's arguably worse for hitbox because EVERY direction must be accounted for and hitboxes have a tendency to skip directions when performing half-circles. But yeah, they got buffed in other ways.
But i really want help in the thing that How to press forward button 3 times so quickly.. i barely can make it on 10 frames after 1st press…. Provide some tips guys..
Sweet guide, I was wondering what was actually required for the bSW and bGS, I knew it was clean inputs but I didn't know about the delay with the df. Keep making more guides please!
Update: As per my video on throw breaks, Blue Spark throws also get a decreased throw break window! So it provides a few extra benefits besides just damage! Please leave a comment with any other Blue Spark moves you want me to look into!
Id LOVE a breakdown on how dragunovs blue spark WR2 ACTUALLY works... it seems so inconsistent sometimes, even with "extremely fast inputs" that every guide out there will tell you to do - at least it did with my testing. It seems that the conditions are now different since the whole "running animation not cancelling upon contact with the enemy" change was put into place, I'm not sure though
@@nh2565 it's very similar to how the shining wizard works. the first f can be input very slowly but the f,f,f+2 has to be within 7 frames to get consistent blue sparks. note the word consistent. i've gotten sparks on 8 or even 9 frame inputs but it's rare. unlike giant swing, you can hold f+2 and it doesn't seem to affect it. but the f, n, and f inputs need to be 7 frames or fewer.
Thank you, been looking all over for the requirements to get the quick input. Edit: Sometimes I simply don't get a blue spark giant swing even when meeting all the requirements. It's harder for me to get it on an airborne enemy. Edit: I just saw the point about buffering. Thank you.
Claudio has a blue spark version of his 1+2,1+2,2 hit confirm where you do bf2 for the last hit instead of just 2. It gives a little bit more damage and starburst state but it’s not that hard.
To add on Giant Swing and Tijuana Twister, you can actually still get them with a separate qcb+qcf instead of a clean hcf. This will make it look like you did it out of sidestep. The buffering for these two throws is way generous now compared to older games. The input would look like this ➡__⬅↙⬇__⬇↘➡+ 1
Great video! Trying to main king and just started yesterday. Loving his gameplay so far lol. Not to bust your balls though, I can barely hear your explanations with the music in the background lol. Just some feedback.
i can consistently throw out blue giant swing but I suck at even regular isw for some reason... also i cant execute giants swing in matches AT ALL, if they are on the offense I cant get any grabs out at all... same for jaguar sprint RKO, cant manage to hit it
