I've never heard of the greycard concept and I've taken a bunch of film and photography courses lol 😅 great tip! I photograph against a light grey wall many times and still get that contrast issue occasionally, but I'm sure it'd happen more with a white wall (this is for clothing). Fantastic tutorial, Dalton! It sounds like a lot of us have had to use a ton of trial and error to get the set up that works for us!
iPhone in camera settings I change Square Vivid Exposure +0.7 I leave exposure open to change if needed. Colors like Purple and Tan need different exposure to look right
Thank you. That was very helpful. I especially liked your intro to the actual photographing part. I'm just starting out with shoes (been holding back), not full-time, by any means; but it's given me some ideas on how to use my regular photo setup. Will definitely check out your other videos. Thanks again.
Great info Dalton. Question. If the shoes have a flaw, do you take photos of that also and note in your listings? I appreciate your time and sharing your knowledge.
Dalton, I find your videos to be extremely helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on selling, shipping, photographing merchandise, etc. I am just getting into selling online, and your videos have provided me with much needed advice on all parts of the process. Much appreciated!
I have no idea why your using a GRAY background to start with. Google states, if you want more organic search results ranking on page 1 of google for your keywords your background needs to be 1) WHITE 2) SQUARE. They dont talk about GARY at all. And, you should be using PhotoRoom to remove that gray background and replacing it with a white background. Trust me, my images look alot better than 99% of the Ebay listings out there and i rank #1 to #3 for 80% of my keyword titles on google because im giving them what they want. You should try it. Its all about testing.
This topic isn’t black & white. There’s pros/cons to both perspectives. I think the cons outweigh the pros, but if what you’re doing is working for you, I’m happy for you.
