So right about the doorman...smh they are soo nosey and do the most. Especially if you look young for your age it's like they can't fathom you staying there. I've had doorman issues in Colombia. They are cool after a few days but still I'm paying good money you need to be cool everyday. Great point that most people would miss.

Dude, i don't know where you are from but the term porch is so antiquated (and Blackish).....start using balcony or patio...at worse...outside sitting area.

I would think its the opposite and you want a place with a doorman. I hear stories about women sneaking off at night with your shit or drugging dudes where a doorman will call up to the room if she comes down alone before he lets her leave the building. Thoughts?

I am wondering how is it possible to find a good place to stay without a door man in Colombia? I lived there for a year back in 2017, and any worth while place in a decent neighbourhood would have a door man just as a security measure. Now I got lucky and never had issues, except once where he felt like he needed to ask for the girl's ID, but actually finding one without a security guy, I say next to impossible unless you dont want stay in a nice upscale neighbourhood.
