This is a really good looking asset. Great job. The leafless tree in itself aswell. The main thing what throws me off is viewing distance. Up close is so different from the intended view distance. It always seems to throw me for a loop.
very good tutorial for people struggling to make these. It's much simpler than it looks. I remember I had no clue how to make these years ago, but once I figured it out, it was actually incredibly easy.
@@1123-p1y Well it takes some practice, but you have the fundamentals as a resource. Just remember not to band or pillowshade, and figure out what your light source is going to be
If you download the pixel art software in the description, you might get the message ''This operation system not supported''. You have to go into compatibility, set ''run in compatibility with Windows XP Service Pack 2'', then it will install (you may have to also check ''run as admin'').
This tree was 96 px height (I always use a 16 x 16 grid). But the height depends on your project, you can have trees with any height you need, based on your main character. My main characters are usually 32 px height.
@@Dyagames 16 x 16 grid is a good way to start with? I mean open a project for example in your sprite editor set the grid to 16x16 and start to draw ? thx , wonderful art btw
Yes, because 16x16 px tiles are recommended when programming pixel art games (that size has some computing benefits), so it's a good idea to set a 16x16 grid on your preferred software and draw 16x16 tiles, and the other stuff (characters, trees, etc) should be proportional to that size. You can make 24px or 32px characters, etc., trees with 48px or 64 px height, etc. Actually, the most important part is selecting a good tile size. I always use a very big canvas with a 16x16 grid, and start drawing freely. But as said, you can use whatever size you want. I hope that helps!
😅 stick with it. It took me a little while to understand but there are some basic rules of thumb that can make all your objects look better. I started making a pixel art rpg before I even knew how and now its actually looking pretty decent.
