Tech here. When infusing lidocaine into the marrow, could or would bradycardia be of concern, or would the amount infused be small enough to not have a detrimental effect? This video was amazing!

Just a side note…. Any new practitioners, if you would like to be a more compassionate physician, ask each patient who is alert and aware receiving this treatment what was their pain score during flushing or creating vacuum in the marrow. You will know from the gnashing of teeth and moaning and groaning that it is bad, but hearing a numerical pain score may help you to register the event in your memory banks. Stay well all.

I’m thinking that the animal on the table was a cadaver because the placement of the IO catheters were not done using aseptic technique.

If this were an actual procedure he would be humming through this quickly. That’s not an operating room.

His hair is no dirtier than any other part of him. He’s not cooking food that the hair could fall into either. If this were an operating room on a live person or animal all people would have protective clothing but it’s not. It’s also a demonstration only as he’s clearly working on a cadaver and nothing there is sterile like it would be in real life.
