How to Plasti Dip your Wheels/Rims W/ Black Metalizer - (Camaro)

As an update for anyone thinking about doing this: If you live in a 4 seasons environment, and daily your vehicle, damage will occur to the dip and require preventative maintenance. The rubber loves to pop out of any kickback areas that creates "bubbles" on any wheels that are more high profile. It can be tricky to wash as well, as you need to be somewhat careful. It has been 3 years for me, and 3 of the 4 wheels are under the same spray/clear coat. The 4th had to be redone from tearing, and 2 of the other three now require a full tear out and redo. But that's just my excuse to put a new wheel and tire package on.

I plastic dipped the rims on my truck and I go on rocky terrain 1 to 2 times a month so the plastic dip tends to peel a lot more since small rock shoot up under the plastic dip and start to peel the dip. If you were thinking about plastic dipping your rims you might want to go with spray paint!

Does the plastidip stay on the lug nuts after a tire change? How easily do the rims scratch from flying debris etc when driving? Looks like a great cheap alternative to buying black rims but how does look after 2 years?

lol your suppose to add enough plastidip so it will come off when you want it to.. and you want to add the clear palstidip so it can keep it good when caliper dust hits

I've dipped my wheels but the edges stick out on my wheels and and no matter what they always peel off slowly on only the edge

Never remove the wheels when doing this. The brakes, centre caps and nuts plus the rest of the car can be painted at the same time..

OK so the first problem is not removing the wheels off the car and starting from scratch. To really do this job the wheels need to come off as well as the tires. If you notice in the video the horrible spotty coverages in the wheel lugnut slots. Not to mention when you remove the wheel you see how bad the wheel looks with aluma chrome holes from lack of coverage. The old school generation would do this job right and just By-Pass The Whole **MICKEY MOUSE** Car alteration job for the sake of quick cool looks **SAD** Dammit!! Its your ride have some goddam self-pride get off your ass and **DO THE JOB RIGHT**
