Hi Stephen, Thank you for the positive feedback, really appreciated. I'm always looking to find the right balance, so good to know I'm on the right track.
Thank you for this! In the second method, it means the audio would play on the participants end using the actual file audio instead of the system audio from the host presenter machine correct?
Hi Darrien, You're welcome, thanks for your question. I just tested this now and the audio plays from the file in the second method. So you don't need to click the Include System Switch when sharing in this way. Since making this video, I have heard reports that the second method is a bit inconsistent when including videos, as sometimes they don't play. Therefore, I would recommend using the first method in this video. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.
Hi, great video! I have a question: If i have a video with animation and voice over, can i just upload this whilst presenting to an audience, without having it imbedded into a power point slide show?
Thanks Dennis 😊 You can share the video without putting it into PowerPoint. Open the video first and pause it. Then share that window from Teams if you don't want to share the whole desktop. Remember to click the switch for the audio. Please let me know if you need any further help with this. Tony.
Tried following the instructions to share PowerPoint (the second method), but the video starts muted for all participants. Each participant has to unmute the video manually before they can hear anything. Is there a step missing? Thanks!
Can you please tell how to do the same from phone. Tomorrow is my presentation and I'm try to do this but while presenting ppt from phone in teams, video is not playing...
Hi! I have a PPT presentation with mp4 videos. When I reproduce them on PowerPoint, they work. When I screen-share this presentation through Zoom, they work. But when I screen share through Teams, on one of my PCs (the better one, with better mic, camera, rtx 2070 etc) on the reproduction bar it says "cannot play media" and they aren't reproduced. On another PC that I have (an old laptop), they work perfectly on Teams (using the same account). What could be going on? Thank you!
the 2nd mehtod does not seem to work for embedded online videos :( i have tried the second method and tried to record the session but the audio of the online video was not heard based on the recording.
Hi Camille, You're right, embedded videos don't work too well with what's now call PowerPoint Live. I would share PowerPoint as a Window and the video should playback OK. I am looking to update the video on Sharing PowerPoint. Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
It's okay if we insert mp4 files to PowerPoint and then share with PowerPoint Live in Teams. But with mp3 files, viewers only can hear the sound when they click on the icon speaker on their own. I would really appreciate if you can let me know a solution for this problem. Thanks in advance and have a nice day.
Hi Phuong, Thanks for your question. This is a draw back with PowerPoint Live. I recommend sharing the presentation as a Window instead. I cover some tips in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bi3t7qqaVUQ.html
Hi Elena, Sorry to hear this. What format is the video? MP4? Also what version of PowerPoint are you using? If it's easier, please email support@readysteadyxl.com and I will get back to you from there.
in which powerpoint version video plays properly and mp4 video format is good? and yes if i use 150 mb video, then is that possible to use 150mb mp4 video in power point?@@ReadySteadyExcel
Why are the powerpoints (with already embedded audio) when uploaded to Teams having troubles with the icons then not being recognised properly? The speaker button is not showing any willingness to play on Teams in a PPT file but on a normal computer the audio file plays absolutely fine. Would really appreciate the help as hours of adding audio for it to then not work when transferred to Teams files is a little soul destroying!
Hi Kimberley, I feel your pain! When you mention icons, is this in the PowerPoint presentation? Like the play icon for the audio? Please let me know and I will look into it.
Hello, My name is Tracie. I will be teaching a class in Instructional Design at Cal State University Northridge. I would like to add your video into my class. In order to use them, I am required to add professional captions. Can I have your permission to download it then upload your videos to our university unlisted RU-vid account? It would be professionally captioned. I would share the caption file with you if you would like. Thank you so much, Tracie
Hi Tracie, Thanks for reaching out to me. Glad you found this video useful. Please can you email me at tony.laskowski@readysteadyxl.com and I will get back to you from there.
Hi! Can u publish your videos with english subtitles. I understant english but not able to understand your accent. You could have gotten more subscribers like me. Thanks.
Good question- Join the meeting via the Teams app, click More Options, Share and select Share Video. This video here covers the initial part of it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_92DrwkkWOw.html
