How to play any N64 game through Wii U Virtual Console - UWUVCI Tutorial 2024 

Yes please! I'm just trying to inject GC games, but I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong! A guide would be greatly appreciated :)

A quick google search of the game with the word "rom" or ".n64" should help you find it. They aren't hard to find, trust me.

I get mine from a website that begins with a "v" and ends in "lair".

Possible solutions: 1. Make sure that you have the most up to date program: github.com/stuff-by-3-random-dudes/UWUVCI-AIO-WPF/releases/tag/v3.0.1 2. Make sure that games with special characters do not have any or WUP installer might fail to install them properly. 3. Make sure that you are installing to a USB first and then the system memory. 4. Install .Net Core on your PC: dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-desktop-3.1.6-windows-x64-installer 5. Make sure that CFW is correctly installed on your Wii U. 6. Use another SD card. 7. Use another base in the injector.

​@@Xemnsyou forgot to mention the most important point. THE FOLDER NAME SHOULDNT BE TOO LONG!!!! Ive had issues with long folder names, they just wont show up

Yeah, I can't really figure out why either. I'll look into it and see if I can find a solution.

@@Xemns I just read in another forum that by using Mario golf as a base it fixed that problem. Just tried it and it really worked! Also... By any chance have you tried playing mischief makers? I used the recommended base but it still seems to have some graphical glitches. Do you recommend keep changing bases until it's fixed or is there anything else to do besides that?

@@mauamp for me I have it on my menu but I'd rather play it on the wii64 emulator. Works fine but you need to use classic controller. Shake shake

Fair point! There injectors are just ONE of MANY different emulators/methods to play these games

A different region base can work fine if that is what you are asking.

That's not particularly what I'm asking I mean the ROM that I own is Japanese. So if I were to add a Japanese Virtual Console game onto a US Wii U is that functional?

Yeah I would ask on the Discord. N64 games are the hardest to inject.

I would actually play perfect dark on Nintendont as it’s a better compatibility. I usually inject games that can be played, while having the rest on the Nintendont.

@@rayojordan2838 Yeah the nice thing is even though I prefer injects there are so many other ways to play games on a Wii U. You can even inject Wii emulators and use the gamepad which is super cool!

@@Xemns its fine, i already solved it but thanks anyway also no, it wasnt on the eShop before Edit: all i had to do was change the rom's title id to mario party 2's and it works perfectly

I'm pretty sure that was already released as a virtual console game, but yeah it should.

I think it may be possible, but it would involve FTPIIU and be pretty complicated

@@XemnsThank you anyways. The inject appeared as a title on the SaveMii list and I was able to backup the save with no issues; so that method might work? I’ll try and look into it more. Appreciate the response though

Yeah. I tried it too a couple weeks ago. It started and immediately froze within seconds. ☹️

Was a new method to unbrick discovered?

I think it's a rom problem, first I had a .z64 file, didnt show up on my wup installer at all, until I renamed it to .n64, when I did that windows warned me that the file might not work so it might be that, now I have a black screen.

Did you try mixing and matching the bases? It was released on Wii VC, so you can always try playing it from there. However, it would require the Wii Classic Controller, pro controller is not supported, even in vWii mode.

What games haven't worked for you?

@@Xemns the ones that dont work on the compatability list. some that are green wont work like Japanese version of Snowboard Kids. Crashes at the shop menu. Banjo Tooie isnt really something thatll work on there either

That's fair. You can always try considering the vWii N64 VC and then making the shortcut using my Wii guide if you want to play those games. I'm sure people have made injectors for those.

That is one of the games that I've been meaning to try. I think it does work, but you need very specific settings. Try some other things out and let me know how it goes.
