One box warbands are fun to play with, and are great in a one-box format. Competitive Warcry is a different story, but a fun challenge non the less :)

The Trueblades are a lot of fun. The Exemplar in particular is excellent and a perfect ally in just about any Death list. Just a solid beat stick

I tend to stick to 1000, but honestly, 1200 opens up a lot more options when it comes to crafting. Is be tempted to try and run an extra pair of Ascetics or maybe even just a straight up second Curseblood for the added speed and bulk. Failing that? Man, I’d have to look at Ally options. I just wasn’t impressed by the allies when I was writing up the script. Probably something there. You may have inspired me to boost my points haha

I’m glad you like the new format, I agree, it has a much better flow now. Is there power creep in Warcry? Maybe. I think the Trueblades feel really strong from what I’ve played. I think 1st Ed Warbands might start to struggle, but I’ve never had a game that felt “unbalanced” if that made sense. Especially now Monsters are more expensive. I think all games suffer a little bit from power creep, but Warcry seems to be trying to not go too far into creeping. I think my biggest example of this is the Centaurion Marshal who is very good imo, but feels in line with the other Chaos Allies. It will be interesting to see how the game changes as more sets come out

I am not advertising anything. I bought this set myself. If I was, I’d legally have to announce I was advertising it. I enjoy my time with the Trueblades - a lot. I also mention that Abilities and Reactions are limited use and situational. That doesn’t mean they aren’t good in that situation and my praise is proportional to the amount of power is gained in that situation. Beast Familiar is functionally a net if someone is already in combat. Nets are amazing. They are game changing. Beast familiar has a longe range than any net in the game (the longest being 6” vs the 20” here), and there is no RNG involved - it just works. It’s all on a 105 point (cheap) model with 18W (lots). It gets praise because it’s good. Their reaction is limited again, but there is obvious power in it in many situations. +1T drastically increase survivability if you cross a threshold, and it’s especially good on chaff. Perfect Strike is interesting and works fine on Howling Glaive since that has a 2/5 profile. I said as much in the video and advised against it on everything else. I even hinted at Perfect Strike existing to make the Howling Glaive more enticing as a pick, and mentioned one of the positives being “visual”. It’s not great, but it does work. It being a triple holds it back though. Thanks for watching

@@wargamesontoast I don't doubt it, it just looks similar )) I've played a lot of games for Corvus Cabal and against them, they have the same ability, and I haven't used it at all. There was only one game where I thought about applying it or not. It can do the job but very rare. In addition the model cannot make a disengage action while carrying a treasure in 2.0 so it will not work is this situation too. It is enough to make simple calculations to understand that Perfect Strike ability works worse than Onslaught even for Ascentic with Howling Glave

Perfect strike does seem an oddity in that it does basically end up worse than onslaught under all circumstances for all models (even if it were better for the howling glaive than onslaught, the fair comparison if you're spending dice would be mace+onslaught versus glaive+perfectstrike, which I suspect it would then lose again and onslaught is easier to get). I can see maybe if there were damage reduction reactions that only worked on normal hits it might be better against those, but that's feeling quite niche. I don't know if moving it to 4+ would make it more balanced or take it too far. It feels almost like GW didn't run the maths on it (and in general on the mace Vs glaive - the glaive seems almost totally redundant unless you prefer the look of it, I don't think it ever does better average damage?). The online commentary on this also seems to be fairly sharply divided between those who ran the maths and those who didn't.
