While Etta James's version of this song is arguably the most famous, it was originally written by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren for the film "Sun Valley Serenade," with Glenn Miller and his orchestra recording several versions.

I am trying to learn the song as an assignment from my voice teacher. And yes, in 1960 I was alive and well. But I heard this song for the first time last week. Amazing, huh? I must say that you make the song alive for me.

I’m here because I’m trying to learn piano 🎹 and Etta James is my favourite singer I’m 43 years old so born in 77. Nobody told me about her I discovered her myself because you can’t not discover her. She is a gem 💎 and is a classic.

I was minus 3 when this came out . My sister had it playing for her walk ‘ down the isle ‘ but it was in a garden so it was walk down some steps through trees and greenery . It was lovely . I thought it would be fun to try to play it on the piano . 😊

Love it Love it. Song has a mix of happy notes (blues) and those awesome low notes/tones. Very soulful, hits right at the heart & soul. The melody is just awesome! I want to learn to play it to sing along to it. 🌹

Amazing! Please do more classic piano songs such as this! I do understand captivating the younger minds on today’s pop music, but some pop songs I’ve seen on your website don’t track well with piano or have limited use for it. Personally, I would love more artists like Carole King, Billy Joel, Michael Bolton. Getting rights to some of the artists music is difficult I’m sure, but it’s great to learn from those songs if you ever do get the rights. Either way, your lessons prove successful to those who are visually affable towards learning the piano. As for the majority of the time I’m on your site, I’m happy to learn your lessons.

I was here because I like the song and it’s been played on cruise ship commercials. My mother and father were born in sixties and I was born in the nineties. So to get someone to really remember the sixties you would have to be in your sixties or seventies than just turn fifty five to sixty. My aunt was just born in 1960 and my parents were born in 1963 and 1965. My maternal grandma got married in 1959.

Hi, I want to learn this song but also sing along with it. Does the rest of the song incorporate the melody into the piano? Or will it be teaching me a ‘backing track’ to sing along with? I don’t want to pay the subscription and it not be the right kind of tutorial 🙈

The rest of the lesson is an 'Accompaniment Version' (no melody in the piano), so it should be perfect for what you're looking for!

this was kinda confusing, seemed pretty rush because with the sorta fast parts you didn’t go over it, so i had to keep rewinding constantly and try to understand it blah, but its good i guess thanks
