Awesome video as always. There's currently an autoharp sitting in a secondhand store not far from me and these videos have me seriously considering picking it up. Thanks!
Nice! How many chords are on that harp? I'm working on a buying guide video. 15 chord harps a very limiting. A 21 chord harp is ideal if you want to jam and play a wide range of songs.
Hi Jerrel. Excellent points to get people started. Playing standing up looks so cool but sitting makes it comfortable to spend the time needed to make progress. But if your bones and joints need a rest, try resting the 'harp on a lap board (as I do), resting on a fanny pack, or even with the 'harp flat on a table. It is fun to be inventive with the Autoharp.
Oh those are great ideas! Thanks for sharing. I like the idea of fanny pack as sort of holder. I'll create a video sharing what it's like to use a strap. When playing acoustically, a strap caused the instrument to hug the body basically muting any projection and tonal depth you could have. I would only play standing up a strap if my autoharp was being amplified. All the best! Happy new year!
I am using the exact harp; but I am getting peg indentations on my left arm. I must be doing something wrong. Will watch this a few more times. Or is it natural to get those peg marks on the forearm?
