Jason, thank you so much your teaching programme absolutely brilliant, I've just starting to learn 3 months now and I've learned so much watching your videos. Man keep up the good work
Was looking to learn to play chords for back up. So glad to find you. Your instructions are so clear and gentle manner is so comfortable. I am learning so much. Many thanks😊👍🎻
Absolutely wonderful teaching method. Fantastic. However, can you tell me how I get to see your postings that you indicate you put in your comments section?
Great videos thanks, just put my mandolin to one side and bought a fiddle -and loving it! For the chords you can take any note in the scale of the tune you want to play, and to play IT'S fifth you play the next string higher at the same 'fret'. To play IT'S fifth below which sometimes sounds better, you just play the lower string two frets up. And to play it's third, you play the lower string one fret down OR if you want to play it as a minor chord (or minor double stop as fiddlers call it) then you play your note along with the lower string note two frets down. If you think of it in terms of position you don't even have to know if it's E or D sharp whatever. I really appreciate the vids thanks again.
For those who want to practice the songs from the chord lessons....Like the 4 videos for easy access, then Boil em Cabbage....Lesson 2 at 13:50 O'Keefe's Slide........Lesson 3 at 4:45 Swallow Tail Jig......Lesson 3 at 5:40 Shady Grove............Lesson 4 at 15:00 Hope this helps....Nelda
Mr fiddlehead thanks for all your great videos. Is there a book or chart anywhere that has these shapes to refer back too? Can’t seem to find anything.
Thank you for expressing this. 🙏🏼 We have a new guide available you may enjoy: fiddlehed.com/blog/how-to-play-violin-an-illustrated-beginners-guide-fiddlehed/
Hard to play four notes on the violin. Try an arpeggio or just leave out a note or two, depending. Use your ears. The tune will help decide what sounds right.
Hi Fiddlehed, Thanks for all your hard work teaching us tricks. What strings do you use, here's a nice list that I can choose from, www.violincompany.co.uk/strings.php have you tried any of these ? I prefer a warm sound. PS is there any NEW Videos of you playing Gigs that we can access on youtube ?
ru-vid.com Andy, this is our website. There are some videos, playlists, etc. Nothing NEW. I use Dominants and Helicore. Thank you for watching my channel. j
Why do I need to know the word: Power Chord? Why is the word important? Gives it some extra meaning besides that I know that the chord consists of a I and a V, isn't that enough to know? Otherwise you teach good stuff. Thank's
