Hey Everyone! We hope you enjoyed this video! Please note that we discuss Chaos Terminators having a 5+ invulnerable save. They actually have a 4+ invulnerable like their Loyalist brethren! Let us know below which god you'll pledge your allegiance too!!
Nurgle, With my Renegades mortal chaos army (Cultists, traitorguard ect). There is no other way to play and still look cool. (except blood pact (Khrone), or Spire guard(Tzeench))
So...I got to see just how good Dark Pacts can be when they work well. I saw a Helbrute with a Mark of Slaanesh turn a fully healthy Redemptor Dread into scrap metal, in one turn, with a Helbrute Hammer. It was hilarious, and totally worth the risk of the Dark Pact, imho. Frankly I LOVE the Dark Pacts rule, I love the element of risk it brings and how flexible it is. It;s fun and fluffy and it works....and when it really works, it's like the Dark Gods have smiled upon you and your enemy just goes splat. Great fun.
Yeah, played my first game of 10th two nights ago, it was only a piddly 500pt test match but I'd almost completely massacred my mates army by turn 2 lol. That was with only 3, _technically_ 2, units - a lord embedded in 5 chosen and 5 terminators, all dedicated to Khorne. Chosen are workhorses man, add a lord with daemon hammer + talisman and they're fucking brutal. When we up the points I wanna make a pack of ten and stick em in a land raider, or alternatively, run a Slaanesh (for the movement strat) dreadnought in front to soak up fire and get that sweet aura.
I am glad to see someone else is as excited about these rules as me! (Though I would have also have watched this just for the beautiful night lords models!)
4x Tzeench Obliterators should get a mention, Deepstrike behind obscuring terrain, Use the Indirect-Fire ability with Lethal Hits Dark Pact. The Strat to bring back a 5w model and heal another for 3 wounds :) Edit: Changed D3 to 3 as per the below comment correcting me.
Awesome video guys, super informative. Also those Night Lords are absolutely delicious, well done. PS I never saw the T inside the logo until just now and now I'll never unsee it.
Hellbrutes seem slept on in this review there aura giving units both lethal and sustained hits when dark pacting is amazing when your using non undevided as both trigger on 5+. Mix that with other things like terminators getting rerolls Dark pact is such a good rule.
I played rogue trader through fifth.I am now gearing up to play again and choosing an army that fits my mediocre painting ability and is ok of shyte. Can is my jam. Thank you for insights and suggestions. You mean do good things!
I haven’t looked at the Daemon Prince on foot, but the one with wings actually doesn’t have the dark pacts ability, so I would refrain from using the intoxicating elixir on it unless you really just want the feel no pain +5
Full squad of Khorne chosen with an exalted champ and master of possession in a land raider. Drop you pact for 5+ lethal hits. You’ll have a super strong unit. Or mark it undivided and use the strat to re roll everything.
Fun combos I’ve noticed: Lucius + master of executions + chosen. Strikes first, with precision and devastating wounds, 5+ crit keep them next to abbadon and they get a 4++ Huron is pretty much an auto include for obvious reasons. One thing of note: Haarken has precision hits in melee. I have noticed a lot of the mech side of chaos doesn’t have as much synergy (to be fair still crunching numbers on it though)
Lucy+MOE with 10 Legionaries with all chainswords and 2 heavy weapons works too. Potentially Rerolls wounds from Longwar & Warpsighted Butcher hits too. Double precision can net free CP too if lucius fights then moe kills his target after.
The thing that´s stopping me from collecting Chaos Space Marines is the fact they are smaller than the imperial marines. I dont understand why did they make the new csm terminators and then made new terminators for the imperium which are true scale. From a lore perspective I can understand Primaris being a bit bigger than normal marines, but it takes away from the fear-factor of the CSM which they absolutely are suppose to be, big scary supersoldiers that worship the dark gods. Now they are just minimarines who are crazy.
So can I mix and match my marks of chaos? Like make Obliterators Tzeentch so I can bring a model back with the strat, but have my possessed blob be khorne, slaanesh or undivided. As an example.
@16:16 Is fight on death counted as its own Phase? I was under the impression that for instance the CSM unit gets charged you play the strat and then when it moves to your turn to fight the models that died fight with the unit as normal and get taken off at the end of your fight phase. Ive been playing it this way and dark pacting the unit... 😅
@@knabseraph awesome. I.picked abby up tp run with my iron warriors today as he seemed to have been toned down a bit. Nice that he still seems strong but not feelsbad strong
I interpreted that as a no go. The Dark Apostle is a three operative unit so it would become 13. But I don’t know if you can take the Dark Apostle with only one Dark Disciple. That’s a great question
Hey, who’s the best for the lord part, I heard u mention chaos lord in term armour. I think abaddon will be great with terminators, so maybe the normal chaos Lord with either Chosen or Legionaires - (unless u can have abaddon + the term lord in the same thing but don’t think u can)? Was also thinking of picking up some raptors for my WorldClaimer to have some fun with. From what you guys said it would seem a great shout! I haven’t got a single chaos vehicle so would you recommend picking one or some up? If so which? Any thoughts on the master of execution too? Looks a bit meh to me. Sorry for all the questions quite new to 40K & this is my main army I’ve started building in prep for 10th! :) would appreciate any help / advice / replies. Have a great day!
Hmm not so sure about not being able to use Dark Pacts on the Lost and the Damned units. Since you're changing their keyword thus making them Heretic Astartes faction and that is the only condition that you need to fulfill to have access to Dark Pacts.
Hey Guys, i need a bit help her :) A Friend of mine got the combat patrol Box from Csm. Its his first army and He starts with the Hobby right now. I think he should play and paint what he got and have fun and dont build, you know, in competitive ways. But the legonaries have a Billion wepons to Choose. Do you have some advices for them, with the dark Apostel? And maybe next steeps for the army? Thank you for your time :)
Hey dude, Jord here. I would suggest a melee build if you are combining them with the dark apostle as they will get his +1 to wound in combat ability. Heavy Melee Weapons would be good and chainswords. You could add in a flamer/melta if you wanted some ranged in the unit. As for next steps I would suggest just pick what they think looks cool, if you're not looking to go competitive then picking your favourite models will help keep the engagement with the army. Maybe look at what synergises with the units you like the look of too :) I hope that helps a little :D
@@VanguardTactics yeah that helps me a lot. :) 1 idea. I tought for the Box, 5 legonaries with apostel melee. 5 with 1Autocanon and bolter. ( but the bolter has ap0 ? ) hard in this meta with so much Cover... And havocs with lasercanons for anti tank ? Hellbrute with hammer and antitank.
New to the game but my understanding is that you can choose chaos space Marines and use units from any of the other chaos armies? Like I can make a marine/worldeater army?
Depends on if you have any scruples about not just throwing in any character that you can, whether or not they fit. Since they don't have legions atm, you are kinda punished if you don't want to just take Abaddon or Huron or Fabius just because the rules let you.
As its the start of a new edition, each index faction only has one detachment. These are just a set of rules to use. You army construction simply needs a character and a warlord as well as other units you like!
Currently quite upset I can't run be'lakor alongside my csm ..... you can run any deamons alongside your csm but it cannot be your warlord .....back of be'lakors datasheet " if be'lakor is included in your army he must be your warlord " .....gutted
Well said! Now that is finally all cleared up. We won't have anymore talk about Abaddon. Anyone who dares to call him something absurd like Abaddon is on notice now that he is clearly called Abaddon and you pronounce simply as Abaddon. Make no mistake when dealing with Abaddon. Good work getting that all sorted out Jared.
I'm definitely not a fan of mixing special characters. It doesn't matter one lick for tournament players, but for people who care about the fluff it's kinda crummy. Especially when the general excuse is to use the model and convert, because that feels like a complete cop out. Also, terminators have a 4+ Invuln, not a 5+. At least on the datasheets that are downloaded from the GW site?
We completely understand, and it's up to you to play them how you wish! The forces of the Renegade Legions do occasionally work together. If you don't want to run Abaddon and Lucius you don't have to! We did catch that on the terminators after the video hence the updated description and pinned comment!
