@@Sweaty23Mike lol yea against someone who doesn’t have IQ that step back ain’t working on me with ankle brace, clamps, menace, chase down, and intimidator on silver and me actually defending off IQ that’s just gives you good defense you still gotta know when to get in yo stance and when to be moving on defense like if I hit you with this stance ima push you in the corner by clamping your shooting hand I know you gotta beat me and get to that shooting pocket so ima force you into corners where you can’t step back and if you do step back I just cancel that stance and close out trust I been playing with it and that chasedown, intimidator, and ankle brace most comp guards end up mistiming they shot even if it’s registering as wide open or 0% open which means the defense is closing out but deadeye is affecting the impact that you feel all the shot contest percentage means how strong the defensive pressure was on the shot
As long as I can force a mistimed shot I know you gotta get bailed out by the HOF badges if you make I can live with that most the time most shooters just pass out the step back cause my close out so fast and strong in this stance when getting in good position on defense, good positioning is always guarding the shooting hand which forces most guards to attack or try to bait you with a blow by then step back for shot, if the paint guarded I know you can’t attack so you tryna bait ima let you think the bait working and close right out when you try stepping back
The cone drill in the combine is the perfect place to see this in motion. On L2 for shuffle and back pedal. Come off R2 to change direction then back on R2 for the boost. Staying on R2 through the corner can make you stumble. Only way I got the best score on it. And proves how this works as well
You literally cover every game I play thank you so much I’ve been having trouble on the defense on next gen had me thinking they didn’t fix the defense but no I’ve been playing defense all wrong on next gen I’m subscribing keep it up 💯💯❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
Been looking for on ball defense tips since 2k 18. This is by far the best and most useful tutorial out here and it really works. Keep up the good work man. I will definitely subscribe and follow you from here on out. 👍😎
Thank you for this video bruh…..I can lockdown almost anybody now….depending on their overall….. some guys are easier than others but this made me so much better on Defense‼️💯✅
I've been doing something similar since 2k22 dropped but thank you Sam for putting it down and presenting it so nicely. Definitely helped more than just me doing it from feeling. (Also I think the slowing down when approaching, imo, is what makes this year's defense easier and feels better)
They had this in previous 2ks by just holding L2 and following the dribbles correctly. Now you have to hold the right stick up as well to get a defensive animation. I'll give this a try cause I hate off balling. I rather earn my defensive stops.
Thanks. So much needed. Waiting for some dribbling tips... because beating somene off the dribble seems more difficult this year (maybe it depends on badges at this point of mycareer)
They separated speed boost badges for standing still dribbles and also dribble on the move. I am labbing this currently will show you guys what I find later
This has been working great for me! I am able to easily lock down dribble moves but still getting beat by speed boost animations and tips to counter this? :)
Idk I feel like this has always been a key in 2k since the beginning I’ve been a defensive player my whole life I just think it works better than ever this year aye great video bro I know I lot of people might hate this one
I used to defend like this on 2k21 next gen always using the right stick up but someone I knew said the right stick up doesn't help but this video is proof That it does. Great video as always
@@SamPhamNBA2KTipsandTutorial looks like I gotta go back to using it again. I used to flick right stick up to contest shots sometimes. But good stuff mate.
I feel like the tricky part is to hold the right stick up straight the entire time, cuz even when it shifted a bit to the left or right, ur players lateral movement starts to become really slow and stiff
So on this game sam I shouldn’t just hold L2 and R2 and fast foot shuffle when I’m trying to keep up? I should just tap it? I was wondering about this because I play fine doin this off line against a buddy but I played 3 games online doing the same thing and i would be miles apart from the ball handler 🤯
I really need this video. I appreciate it more than you know. I have a question. Does this work against guarding the left right cheese? That’s where I struggle the most. Also, am i suppose to hold R2 to catch up to a player that has beaten me on the perimeter?
I was hope'n if you could explain what the new "Shot Coverage Impact" slider means in layman terms🤦🏽♂🤨...It says "Change the impact of being open or covered on all shots"....What's suppose to be a good number and why ??? Thx in advance bro 👍🏾✌🏾💯
Man it'd be cool if they added a toggle option for left Trigger defending, even name it ODS. Love the tutorials man, helped my be significantly less of a scrub
Sam Pham. I have a suggestion. Can we have some tips and tutorials on Post moves? It was revamped this year, and I will love to get some help on maneuvering here.
