I initially thought that spamming Raiders would be the way to go, so as to have an entire 10-man squad of Wyches or Incubi to use Pounce on the Prey with, rather than using a CP on a single 5-man squad. But someone more experienced than me pointed out the ways that Venoms may be the way to go: smaller footprint so can hide behind terrain much better, the ability to pickup your unit after it fights so you don't have to waste a CP to get them back in it.
for me is the shooting capability, you get the short range special weapons in the venom and leave the darklance and the splinter cannon somewhere in your deployment nicking at the enemy and blocking deepstrikes behind your battle line. every venom now has 3 blast shoots, ons shredder and two splinter cannons, moving at will around the enemy, it's nasty how easy you can shoot 12 F8-12 ap-3 -4 onto a primary target and then fly away to do objectives.
What's your take on taking Archon & Court of the Archon & Khabalites in a Tantalus? While pricy on points, the amount of buff-stacking you get out of it and the durability of the vehicle gives some pretty terrifying gun-boat power, as well as looking RAD AS HECK on the table.
I like the idea, especially considering a have an unpainted Tantalus in my garage. That’s a freakin terrifying brick of a unit for sure. I’m going to play it one day on the channel - my old garage is half a world away from me now, but one day…😎
@@vfminiatures I feel so torn about collecting Drukhari. I absolutely love the idea of Khabalite raiders in boats, working like a raiding fleet of corsairs~ especially with a "flagship" Tantalus and aircraft support. It seems like a very laborious hobby prospect though. Those boats are each like a miniature diorama in their own right.
@SuperCosmicSpaceMagnet yes, I’m not going to lie - Drukhari were one of the most difficult armies to collect for the channel. And required a lot of hours from my painters. But they are extremely rewarding and fun when you reach the end point and put them on the table. And their play style is unique so it’s very worth it
@@vfminiatures I can believe that :) I think I'll just pick up a combat patrol and see how I get on. If it's fun then I'll expand - if not then I'll just Ebay it off and call it a loss.
Another fantastic video! I'm only a few months into the hobby, but your channel and one other have pretty much taught me everything I know. You relay relevant information in a very clear and concise way. Bravo. I bought a vindicator today because of your videos haha. Thanks for the upload! Keep up the good work, buddy.
I like your way of reasoning and it feels very grounded in how the game works. Real good advice mixed with some opinion but always clear what you're trying to communicate each time. Keep it up! I'm about to try to play Drukhari for the first time and this video validated my thoughts. I've played against Drukhari half a dozen times with my Astra Militarum army and the elves never seem to be able to crack the tanky stuff. So I've challenged myself to create an army that would be able to eradicate though units and vehicles and get to borrow a friends to play against his Space Wolves. So far it's easy, but I've come to hesitate between Haywire or Dark/Heat-lances. Anti-vehicle and dev-wounds are great but the lances wound everything, given that they only shoot half the number of shots and truly dislike invulnerable saves. Against Space Wolves I'm guessing Haywire might be better with all the invulns and no monsters, only vehicles, but I want a list that's usable against every army. Is there any consensus in the community for what weapons to use. In my case it's for the Talos (bringing 2 x 2) since I want to try Scourges with lances to keep them outside overwatch if I can.
A bit too expensive for what it does, though the model is beautiful and codex Drukhari is still not released, so anything can happen. But I’d have 2 just in case
They are good but when you consider it’s roughly the same cost as a land raider, you see how fragile they are for the cost. That said, they are a great distraction carnifex
