The new token update of 6/5/2024 makes running 'sturdy only' better so you can bump them for one tier since there's no sleep/freeze anymore. This video is complementary to my two Endless guides ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CHvMaHkehMQ.html / ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0Q4nUgTHOMw.html ) and talk about the different strategy change for 2.5k+. The early part of Endless is not really that much different.
it's worth to mention that there are passive changes coming soon as well, Paras will be losing the poison heal. There will a pokemon that gets the passive poison heal. It's important because when that update rolls out your paras passive will change mid run. Similar to how rayquaza egg move change happened. There are more changes coming before we get a full endless rework: - tokens are getting balanced a little more with some being removed - other mons are getting their passives changed which means we hopefully get other build/strategy options
i think its more of a meta shift, since things like Belch, Cheek Pouch are viable now, and you could actually output tons of damage with mons like guzzlord or Greedent
@@snoozy999 The issue that people have is how the change came without warning and applied to every save messing up everybody. The mode is not more difficult.. if anything with the introduction of poison orb it is actually easier.
My new endless start strat is my early carry (calyrex + manaphyl for 11 cost, 4 luck) my runaway + pickup mon ( 0.75 cost spidops + furret, 2 luck) then I bring a Nacli with sturdy for my leech salt soak mon (2 cost, 3 luck) and lastly azurill with misty terrain passive which I'll fuse with my prankster mon later(1 cost, 3 luck). Total is 14.75 cost and I start with SS luck + a good setup to get into pos for a superfang/metal burst mon
There is another strategy that I adore that was barely affected by the change. I know you don’t like that strategy Simply Ayu but I think it’s awesome. Normalize + skill swap on a ghost pokemon ideally with prankster as a passive (so you should use dusklops). Combine that with a dot build (curse, soak and salt cure for example) and you get a really strong pokemon that beats everything in the game except for those 4 things: -Pokemon with annoying passives: scrappy, minds eye and maybe neutralizing gas (I don’t know how it works because of passives and I haven’t tested it because neutralizing gas is not implemented yet) -Pokemon whose ability cannot be swapped and neutralizing gas (like quark drive or illusion) -Priority moves (but prankster lets you circumvent this problem except for first impression) -Unknown because that annoying mon has hidden power which ignores normalize (genesect, sylvaly, arceus and terrastalized Pokemon might become a problem too but right now they aren’t). The second problem can be mitigated by using another pokemon with worry seed (for certain talents that cannot be swapped worry seed works so after using worry seed you just need a safe switch to be able to use skill swap). The first problem might be mitigated by using gatro acid in the same way as worry seed but I am not sure of that. Because I would think that skill swap would fail on a mon with a destroyed ability. But outside of that it’s really strong, it’s just not good to deal with paradox pokemon unless you use another Pokemon with worry seed. It’s also the only way I know of to use curse without putting the user at risk. The idea of the strat is simple use skill swap and then you are completely immune to your opponent. So you can basically crush them.
Theres another strat I found. You can get a max speed flinch support and a nshade/toss or dot damage dealer, then get 5 lures before every 50 rounds to force a double battle. Its really garbage and I would never do it but it could still work. You need a steel fairy to beat eternatus and run away from everything.
amazing video and basically affirmed my suspicion, i think the devs wanted meta shift and they succesfully did, i look forward to playing again with newfound joy
honestly I think most strategies are still playable and so far I enjoy the new update. You also have to take into account that boss battles are a lot faster now with nerfed healing of opponents. For example with DOTers you can now KO bosses a lot quicker cause they can't heal for that long which really doesn't feel like a nerf to me. 90% is still pretty high odds in getting your berries back and if you combine that with Grip Claw (or get lucky with finding a Mini Black Hole) you don't have to worry a lot about consuming many berries
What about magic guard plus flame or toxic orb in place of purifying salt? And what about safeguard in place of misty terrain? Also don’t forget about comatose for status protection. Komala gets it, and Jirachi gets it as a passive.
Any chance we could get an infographic on the fuse order and what to look out for? As a new player its still a bit confusing. I know overtime I will pick it up, but a mini guide would be extremely helpful. Thanks!
The change to berry pouch makes sense in the future. The change to berries makes sense in classic. What does not make sense: 1. Rolling out these changes suddenly with no warning 2. Making these changes apply to existing runs 3. Seeing community outrage and meeting it with snide remarks, defending the change or discrediting the person with an opinion. I really enjoyed this game, when it felt like we had a voice. At this point, the game is going to become whatever the new "Devs" envision. Mind you. This game was abandoned by the original creator due to a bunch of stress and nonsense about trans beliefs, which never had anything to do with Pokemon. Very unfortunate turn of events. Thank you for the video, bro. Your content is very informative!
Completely agree. Just changing the berries without reworking the token system and endless as a whole means absolutely nothing, people will just adapt their strategies to overcome this and it will be the same. And applying the change to existing runs is just stupidly annoying. Did you invest a lot of hours into building up a team to get past late game endless? Guess what, we've just made an update that borderline kill your run without making the experience any better for new runs, isn't it great?
@@simplyayu_pkmn yes, I've read. If this is the first step to make endless a better experience I'm all for it. I still think they could have pushed out the re-work all together or at least they could have let current runs unchanged. But to be fair I'm mainly annoyed because I've been slowly progressing with my endless and now it's quite the struggle to carry it on lol. Thanks a lot for all the tips by the way, I've started following you the past weeks and they've been very helpful!
@@lemme3295 Like I said in other comments, the change should have been reducing the berries but keeping the berry pouch at 100% just to ease us into the rework.
I'm halfway through a run with the new poison heal strats, it's very good, but having to top up on berries can be a pain, especially when it's something you actually have to keep track of so you don't accidentally wipe. I'm planning to start an unnerve shedinja run next, meaning I won't need to use berries at all. I'm curious to your thoughts? Why do you not think it's as good as poison heal?
You do not need berries for poison heal and you're immune to all status condition. The only reason I think shedinja is one tier below is because of the setup required and the weakness that the pokemon has based on the typing you're going for. You're going to die to lots of things coming left and right like confusion, weather damage (if you go the unnerve route which is probably worse now) or to dark moves (if you go normal) / ghost/steel (if you go fairy).
@@simplyayu_pkmn Is having no metal burst and only soak/leech/salt/protect viable? That's something I have yet to try and would agree that works well with poison heal. Currently I have one of the dots on a support mon (in my poison heal team), which I have to bring out for every paradox, and that mon needs the berries replaced. I'm thinking that with dark/ghost shedinja with all dots + super fang, I'd only need a normalize support mon to deal with flutter mane/scream tail. Because currently I'm using the support for every paradox pokemon, and with shedinja I'd only need the support mon occasionally, to me it seems better to go shedinja? Obviously it's very close and just down to preference. Either way it's good to hear that I'm not missing anything huge that makes shedinja strat way worse, thanks :)
@@HoorayForJay You do not need metal burst no, you can play Curse/Gastro Acid on a prankster mon and Soak/Salt Cure/Leech Seed/Super Fang on Shed. Plus, you do need entrainment/normalize which you can easily do with Skitty/Spinarak.
I still finished my run (prankster hex + leech seed + soak + salt cure supplemented by a 'classical' metal burster latias-archaludon) Now started a new run with parasect + aggron fused as my metal burster. Thanks for the awesome guide!
@@simplyayu_pkmn i caught over 40 Shroomish but i dont get the passive abilities and i unlocked the passive with candies also. It feels like i miss something. So i start my run with Aron ( Sturdy Ability) playing the game learning metalBurst. How you can merge passive abilities aaaaaahh
@@sorry_faded1756 Passive abilities need to be unlocked with candies. It's their 'second' ability. You cannot catch a pokemon with a passive ability. So if you want to play that strat you need to unlock sturdy on something like Squirtle then spliced into Breloom with poison heal.
How do you get to use poison heal later on? Don't they just 1 shot you if you lose the 50% chance on the focus band and they hit you hard enough to 1 shot? I get that you refill your hp with all sources of healing making you immortal IF you are even 1 hp, but how do you survive that hit to 1 hp in order to heal if you don't have sturdy because you have poison heal ability instead?Because after the berry changes sturdy metal burst seems unreliable against bosses because of tokens status effects. Thank you in advance for the help/response.
the flame orb has the same effect on pokemon with adrenaline like in the main games.. right? also kinda nice to let eternatus take it from you and watch it burn to death.. anyways.. I'm feeling great today 😆
If you don’t have poison heal or sturdy passive unlocked, sucks to be you lmao. This update just made it so you can hardly play endless without a passive of some sort.
So if I get an Aggron with sturdy and merge with breloon that has poison heal, i will get an Aggro with the hability poison heal and sturdy has a passive?
No you need to start with one or the other with either Sturdy or Poison heal as a passive ability then merge into the one you're missing. So Wormadam with PASSIVE sturdy merge into Breloom for poison heal.
Update on berry bag sucks. Now its mirco management. It makes this a chore now. Since i dont know which berries was eaten so im just clicking to find that mon has too many of the items. Time to quit for a while.
Ahhh that explains why i almost lost my endless run yesterday night and why everyone lost their berrys. So they nerf the player before they adjust the endlessly annoying endure tokens.. coolcool..
Exactly, I feel like the change is too sudden and they shouldn't have changed the berry pouch. They could have still changed the berry pouch in the endless rework if that's what they want to do.
@@simplyayu_pkmn Agreed. The change is fine, but definetly wrong order. Its literally "we make everything else unplayable so use the new toxic orb strat!"
@@makehaste6619 would you happen to have a toxic move on any of your pokemon? i am specificly refering to the start of the video where the patch notes say "weight of 10 if you have a status required ability or move for each 0 otherwise"
@@notarealplayer2 I think what that means is that it only appears if you have an ability (like poison heal of guts) or move (like facade) that benefits from the user having a status.
