10 points, however you can make the game longer or shorter by changing it. e.g most points in 2 hours.

The game uses Victory Points that you earn for winning combats as an aggressor, completing missions, certain developments, and even spending Minerals if you have a thriving economy. Once any player gets 10 Victory Points, they get to the Verge of Ascendancy, triggering the end of the game at the end of the next round. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner. It does not necessarily have to be the player who triggered the endgame.

​@@Whimzy1000 hmmm If there is a "race" to 10 victory points, I can't see how someone else could have more point than the one who trigger the end. I mean it doesnt make sense to me right now.

@@WiDOC It doesn't seem, to me, like it is a race. Better to build up your fleet during the game so you can then grab more VP at once when the endgame has been triggered.

@@nightcatarts So if you have let's say 8 VP and the player who trigger the end have 10 VP. It means you have to win 3 VP in one turn and the other player 0 to hope to win. That kind of stuff is potentially possible but seems a bit hard to believe imho. Or maybe I still don't understand how that's working.

Yea but it's hard to give players a sense that they're actually doing anything useful in those circumstances. It only works in Eve Online because of the amount of time you spend in it & that sometimes you just want to go mining or whatever. Not sure it's really possible to produce an exciting board game without abandoning that.. Perhaps if the goal is to upgrade ships for VP, more like a fleetbuilder, then that could work.

id say more like a firefly type pick up and deliver, but you are upgrading your personal fleet to do tasks for different empires?@@nightcatarts

@@chadvader974 Yes that could work too. The problem with either of these ideas is that they don't really give you an idea of the scale though.. It's hard to balance the vastness against player agency, I suppose is my point.

Maybe at some point a more rpg/campaign style game will come out. But a game about fleet control and system control is not too much out of line with what a Corp leader does anyway. I'm just happy to see it converted to tabletop at all. I can't wait to paint these miniatures.
