There are collector's boxes that come with each of the faction's ship models at 200% size. If that's all you care about, pledge a token amount and then buy them during the pledge manager, if you don't want the full game.

Not both sides. The Sleipnir gave rerolls in the MEDIUM orbit for the Minmatar, and the Amarr player's strategy gave rerolls also only in Medium.

@@captainbenzie I ment both sides in the medium orbit. Since the attacker crit in the medium they had a spare hit (had 3 needed 2), that could be rerolled, but perhaps there was no potential gain? I don't know if you can reroll only one die or what the rules are :) The defender had a blank white and sounded like could have benefitted from more hit. Only minor details, I loved the walkthrough and put in my order for the kickstarter :)

It varies since you have three free actions and then could buy additionals. Also, some rounds had people using loads of their Research cards, and some doing big combats, whereas others were JUST manufacturing or redeploying etc.

Not hard coded in (for me, thank goodness). Forced diplomacy takes the fun out of games for me, but table talk and informal alliances work great!

I'm not sure I agree, based on the EVE theme: DIF: Jamming represents things like ECM on EVE, and Agility is to do with ship speed and maneuverability. In game, ships have an agility modifier and it doesn't play a single part in locking mechanics. Signature Radius is the closest thing, but confusing for a bon EVE player. RED: Shields are prominent on Caldari and many Minmatar ships in EVE. Amarr and Gallente both favour armour and sometimes even Hull tanking. Having a Gallente battleship with high SHIELD makes no sense, thematically. Those ships have very little shield, but do have highly reparable armour/structure. HP: In EVE, ships have HP. This stands for "Hit Points", not "Health". Even D&D uses "HP" for "Hit Points", not health.

@@captainbenzie i have never ever play EVE online in my life and as a boardgame player/youtuber, you must be aware there will be way more non EVEonline people trying this game than EVEonline players. the scifi boardgame community is HUGE and many do not play hardcore videogame, like EVEonline, at all.

@@saiksaikatai594 and yet many do, as evidenced by the sheer volume of videogame IP boardgames, from Stardew Valley, to Dark Souls and Bloodborne, to Sniper Elite, and even recently Dead Cells and many more. This game is aimed square in the middle of where those two Venn diagrams overlap. My point is that you were saying that the designers missed a trick with the theme. No they didn't. They focused on the theme. For EVE players, that makes transition to a boardgame easier. For boardgamers, well, we're used to having different names for the same thing (victory points being Honour, or cash being gold, money, dollars etc depending on the game)

@@saiksaikatai594 also, I can tell you categorically that the sci-fi boardgame community, big as it is, is dwarved by the sci-fi videogame community. The attempt to bring the bigger crowd to the smaller one makes sense.

Yes you can, but zero player elimination, and you have plenty of reimbursement for "bad combat" (getting event cards, which are very powerful, and certain development cards really helping too) Compared to other games of this genre, it's much friendlier and doesn't have players being eliminated for being ganged up on (and some of the other games don't eliminate, but they may as well because you just won't recover - here you can)

Honestly very few. Most of the criticisms we had were fixed in future games either with stuff we'd missed or by changing up playstyle. The closest thing to a criticism is that combat can slow the game down for the uninvolved players if you have one of the combat players not knowing their cards and having to read all their abilities... But that feels less the fault of the game, and more of the player. Also, having 40 research and development cards to choose from at the start of the game can be daunting. So we just gave suggestions to new players.

@@captainbenzie How do you feel about the tile layout? Seems like it would be a pain to flip them while having minis on adjacent tiles and not having them fall over.
