One part of playing bass that I find really fun is inserting fills. Fills are great for keeping the pulse going in a song and making sure the rhythm and the feel don’t get lost. In this video, I demonstrate some classic fills, talking about why they’re good, and providing some inspiration for you to start adding fills into your own bass playing. Check it out. Charlie Larkey ended up flying competition aerobatics and teaching me to fly aerobatics out of Santa Paula, CA. . For a time he lived in FL at a fly-in/runway. Great pilot. I lost track of him too. FYI

Hello Jon, love this video. I have been putting my signature on songs I have covered for years. It is something that I love to do and helps me stay motivated and creative in my bass playing. As you suggest if helps to move the song along and if it needs it. I put my on spin on many a classic cover. They way you know it works is if someone notices it a it puts a smile on their face :). Playing bass for over 50 years and still learning stuff everyday.
