Damn this actually helped and it wasnt like other videos telling you to download something

For anyone asking how to connect the ps4 controller when the game can't be added to steam or isn't on steam. I added the epic game launcher and the rockstar game launcher to steam, steam recognized the controller and it connected automatically for me. From there all I did was open the rockstar game launcher from steam which will open the epic game launcher and load up the game. Only problems I'm having is I get no audio so I have to plug headphones into the ps4 controller for game audio and I can't change the controller buttons, it still uses xbox buttons so X is A, ○ is B and whatnot but other than that I can play and hear the game perfectly fine. If anyone can figure out how to change the controller buttons that would be great. Hope this helps

Doing this but controller flashes then the light just turns back off, stays connected for maybe 2-3 seconds then controller disconnects, works if I use a USB cable

if i do this will i still be able to use keyboard and mouse for stuff like shouting and use the ps4 control for stuff like driving?
