Happy Chrsitmas! or Happy Xmas! This is the next video of the beatlesque tutorials. John Lennon made a great work here, although Yoko Ono was a little bit out of tune ;)
A little chaotic for me. You start explaining some Verses and notes in great detail but you quickly go over the other Verses and the Refrain and go back and forth. I'm going crazy trying to decipher and sort the notes and rhythm of the entire song. But better this than nothing. Luckily you play and sing a huge part of the song at the opening of the video. Thanks anyway because it's the best arrangement to piano accompaniment that I've found on RU-vid.
Hey VERY nicely played, you're tuition is MORE than useful & it's like you've read my mind as I want to learn this classic, I play & sing alot of stuff including good old Xmas classics that I'm working on for day groups I reguarly entertain. I'm learning Do They Know It's Xms? I have a classic Roland E86, Yamaha PSR3000 & other stunning keyoards. I record my own stuff, covers like G Nmn, Krftwrk & all time classic covers. Cheers & please keep up the good work, Ur VERY good. From Rich
Thank very much for this tutorial. But i have a question. I don't know if you want to do it but will you do this tutorial again but then a little bit slower so i can folow it, it went a little to fast for me. I hope you will do it, so I can play this song for my mom for christmas. (sorry for my bad English :) )
A flat is the same note as G sharp which is the third in an E major chord. They are enharmonics. Why dont you stop acting like a know it all? Plus the song modulates and does not stay in the key of A. You are not impressing anyone with your stupid attempts to insult someone. You are the exact type of person Lennon would have told to get bent.
kortick50 The song modulates to D major, where there's no A flat either. as if that matters. Thank you for informing about G sharp, yes I think I know they sound similar on the modern well-tempered klawier, though there's no excuse calling the third note in E Major chord A flat except ignorance or amateurism. I'm not trying to insult someone, I'm simply tired of amateurs, who have ambitions to teach. By the way when did you connect to Lennon last time? Tell him I don't care
They sound similar because they are the SAME NOTE. why dont we just cut his balls off for referring to a G sharp as an A flat. such a crime. the song does not stay in any one key if you realize that. He adds many off key notes to keep the pattern. and did you mean 'Well-Tempered Clavier'?? we wouldnt want to sound like an amateur by using the wrong word by accident now would we...that would be wrong. someone like you might insult such an ignorant person. I'll pass on the msg to Lennon that instead of taking his meaning in the song of peace in the world to using it to insult someone for you. Im sure he will be thrilled to know that even all these years after he wrote the song people still cant get the message. Happy Christmas to you (and I DO mean that)
A flat is the same key on the piano as G sharp but it's not the same note. If one doesn't get the difference he can't grasp the essence of intervals and the tonal system as a whole. Sorry if I'm getting too annoying. I know knowledge is a deadly sin nowadays.
G 4 sharp (or A 4 flat): 415.3 Hz. they ARE the same note. They vibrate at the EXACT SAME FREQUENCY. I understand that in the key of A or D it is referred to as G#, but in the key of E flat or D flat it is called A flat. But it is just a different name for the same tone based on the tonic of the key. surely you know that. and dont sin too much with your 'well tempered klawier'...u could die from poor knowledge.
