Daniel Negreanu says it hard to play pocket jacks. I completely disagree and I made this video to prove him wrong. Playing pocket Jacks requires just a little more observation, patience, and odds knowledge. Once you have watched this video you will be able to play JJ confidently and assured of making it a very profitable hand for you.

I find it hilarious that so many people treat JJ like pocket 2s, but the same people treat pocket 10s like AA.

play it like any other small pair. If a good flop doesn't come and you're getting heavy pressure just throw it away, it's usually junk. qq is the only grey area really between going all in or plaything to see the flop. kk and aa is easy try to get everyone in preflop or shove on the flop
@jaxsonbateman
@jaxsonbateman 10 лет назад
The main reason they're tough is that if you hit any overcards, there's every chance you're behind, especially if there have been any preflop raises (which there almost surely would have been). While I'm certainly no expert, I'll either go all-in preflop (if my opponents haven't indicated a Q+ pair) and at least force whoever calls me to go into coin-flip mode, or if it's cheap enough I'll flat call and hope that either I have the overpair, or I hit a set.

short stacked I go all in pre-flop w/ pocket Jacks, I get called by 2 players w/ A 10os and A K suited; I flop a set of Jacks and they flop straight draws w/ a Q on board, they each need the cards that are in each others hand, a K or a 10, 10 hits on the river

Yeah this was hilarious, had me rolling...Actually I find the Queens harder to play than the Jacks, It's really easy for me to get away from Jacks even when they are an over to the board, but the Queens will cost you a bundle when they're beat if you're not careful..I just try to be real aggressive with the Jacks Preflop, then somewhat defensive Post, ready to dump them if my opponent wants to commit a bunch of chips(except when you spike that third Jack of course, then you're golden baby!)

Do one with AK. I had AK in the big blind, the button raised, small blind calls, i reraise, button shoves it, small blind calls, i call, they both have AJ, they both hit a full house on the flop, i don't improve, i'm out of the tourney. XD I love this vid, nice job!

I actually just won a tournament (well, on Zynga, where the level of competition is laughable at best) with JJ. So how did I play them in that case? Min-raise preflop (as it was heads up I could have easily been more aggressive, but this opponent would have folded without something amazing). Hit something like 8-10-J. Min-bet, called straight away. Turn, something inconsequential like a 2. Min-bet, call. River, another 10 giving me jacks full. This time I bet 3 BB attempting to get some extra value without scaring him off. My opponent shoves, so I snap call. Turns out he'd hit a straight to Q on the flop So that's how you play them boys and girls. Flop big, river a monster, and hope your opponent has a great hand too. Pretty much, rely on the deck to do all the work for you. :-P
@daveyishavoc
@daveyishavoc 14 лет назад
K some of these were pretty bad. But the 3rd one, when the button raised and the BB pushed all in, that should have given you an indicator that he either had a high pair or an Ace with a strong kicker, meaning your hand would be a coinflip in your favor, at best...unless he was bluffing. Your quick call indicated that you most likely thought he was bluffing. Coinflips go both ways. You're going to lose about half of them. Hence the term.

Great video , sadly although this has got to be a tongue in cheek look at online poker , its funny because its true .The bad beats just keep coming .I hit trip 333 on the flop the other day on PKR .The flop was 38j I was thinking lovely my hand is really hidden.Possible straight or maybe pairs but looking good.The other guy bets big and i think ok stick with you .The turn car is a ten he bets out again and i still think I'm ahead , so i stick with him again. The river turns and its another ten.So now I've got a pretty good disguised hand .He shoves and I'm confused, but i go with it.Hes hit quad 10 .against my full house.I deleted the app from all my devices and really can't see me playing for quite some time .

The way you play JJ is move all in, or fold.. Folding is usually the better play, cause even when you have the best hand, a lot of times a better player will move you off of it.. The hand just doesn't have a lot of value..

Jacks are really a great hand. I win with them more than I lose. The biggest problem I see most players getting is they want to win so much with them, they jump the gun. And just to tell ppl, it's ok to fold jacks preflop. It doesn't make you a bad player if you do.

Still trying to find the one where a guy is giving a sitngo tutorial and he's like "ok, in this spot you have to bet 95% of his stack here so if he goes all in you know he has it and you can fold safely"... lol if anyone knows of any other halarious online poker videos like this let me know.. .cheers and gl all

dont agree with some the re raising and bets out. often if you think there trying to bluff you call them down is the way to go that way if your right you get there chips and if your wrong u limit your loss. however showing over the top means u get called when your wrong and they get away when your right. only times i think this makes sense is if you dont have a hand yourself, or if you put them on a draw.

Funny shit. I've found myself jammed up with JJ many times too. I found the best way to play them is to hope to flop a set and fold them if overs come out. Same with QQ. Great hands when the blinds are huge and near the bubble and great when you slow play them and flop a set in cash games but far too often players get married to them and over play them.
