Hi everybody, here is my new video lesson. Hard work lays ahead. Endless jazz runs and how it is done by the professional jazz guitar players. Don't worry you don't have to play this in a very fast tempo, it's okay if you can play this in eight notes instead of sixteenth notes. I show you also a professional concept with modern scales to play over a II-V-I chord progression in C minor, that will give you a really modern flavour in your jazz improvisation. As always it works best with the additional tabs and neck diagrams available on my website. All the best from Germany

Excellent 👏! Quite a challenge to play that quickly - guess this is just practice at slow tempo and gradually speeding up? Thanks for putting this together Achim 👍.

It takes time, but it's a much better exercise than playing scales up and down

Hi I have a question In the dm7b5 scale you are using an E natural, if I'm playing summertime say in Cm, when I come to the turnaround dm7b5-G7b9 Wouldn't the Eb be a better note in that scale?
@AchimKohl-JazzGuitar
@AchimKohl-JazzGuitar Год назад
If you play an E natural instead an Eb, it sounds more modern. Please note: there is more freedom in jazz improvisation than the most people think.

@@AchimKohl-JazzGuitar ok thanks, for me it sounds more natural seeing it's heading to Cm But I'm going to give it a shot next gig
