I'm an old Nintendo fan. I had a Wii. But in 2011 I sold it. Wii U I did not buy because I did not see the need for it. But now I bought it. I was bribed by the fact that on the Wii U you can play NDS games! As well as backwards compatibility. Me and my family are waiting for a fun new year holidays, all happy new year!
Just saying you could use home brew to also use it on the wii the wii u was completely worth it because all the great games but the Nintendo switch fully replaced it Mario maker mariokart 8 smash bros super Mario bros legend of Zelda breath of the wild all those games are on the switch as well or just better versions on the switch
WRONG. This is not a good way, the best and easiest way is with NUSspli, which is directly on the console, and you can just search for the DS game. Also it appears on the menu.
Can confirm this still works on 5.5.5, installed Loadiine via the homebrew store, had to reboot console for it to work properly, only thing missing was the game covers but the game itself works flawlessly, feels great playing ds games on a big ass screen
@@Gedreor if you're picky about having the game covers, add a folder on the Ds games location folder, name it meta, get the picture you want as a cover, convert it to 128x128, save it as a tga file and bam it's done, looks a lot nicer!
Still works. Literally just did it Also it is important to not just name the folder with the DS game in it [ABCD01] There has to be something in front of it
I was always wondering why Nintendo didn’t make a Nintendo DS (or 3DS) player for the Wii U since they’ve done it for the gameboy on the SNES and GameCube. Hopefully the Switch brings all those old games back somehow
The Wii U is so criminally overhated and/or underrated! Because there are many good things the Wii U is capable of that the Switch can't do! Why focus only upon the bad things about the Wii U?! Why care that the Wii U's "game loading system" is slower than players anticipate?! Why care that the GamePad must always be near the Console?! Why care that Wii U games can't be put on sleep-mode unlike how Switch can?! Focus on the Pros, people! Not the Cons! (Not 2B confused with Joy-Cons)
Thetechgenius No, it's much more powerful than those systems. The Tegra X1's Floating point performance is around 1 teraflop with Nvidia hardware generally speaking a teraflop on Nvidia silicon is better than a teraflop on AMD hardware. A base Xbox One running AMD hardware is 1.3 teraflops. The GPU in the Switch on paper isn't that far off from the base Xbox one and the quad core performance cluster of A57's is actually quite a bit more powerful than the mid-range in 2013 jaguar cores in the Ps4 and Xbox one series. It's definitely not powerful to emulate those systems, but not even a 1080 TI is. The Switch is a fairly capable piece of kit in comparison to the base consoles. Those systems are nearly 6 years old though.
Isn't that already on VC? Sadly I don't have one anymore. Too bad I never got to play any DS or N64 game. But I did get GBA and SNES games on it like Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror as well as Super Mario Kart. Cannot wait for it once it comes to Nintendo Switch!
There is, I think it is a little more complicated and you need to have an official DS game on the Wii U already. (The most common was Brain Training as that was free for a limited time), then you inject the ROM in it's place.
Can confirm that everythings works fine, I'm on Windows 10 and my Wii U is 5.5.4 firmware. The only thing I could not get to work was that the games in Loadiine doesn't show as it does for you(with a icon of a DS console). But otherwise from that, everything works perfectly!
Next to the "code" and "content" folder, create a folder named "meta" and place an "iconTex.tga" file and optionally an "bootTvTex.tga" in the newly created "meta" folder.
My baby brother snapped my super Mario 64 DS cartridge 😑 and I remembered you can play it on the Wii U so I downloaded it on there so the Wii U is still worth it in 2021
I follow this tutorial in painstaking detail every time, and every time, my console fades to black when I try to launch the game and is then softlocked for eternity.
Eddy Studios Update: I tried using different ROMs, ex: (U) instead of (J) or just went to a different site all together, and eventually got them all working except Pokemon Black and White 2. Apparently they are so large and a certain type of iso, they don't work. So, that's all I know.
@@runterranger7398 i wonder if there is a way to emulate dsi enhancing without actually us9ing its features, pokemon black and white 2 work on my original ds but i obviously cant use camera, etc
I have to say, the DS version of Yoshi's Island is *definitely not the best way to experience the game* . Play the original release of Yoshi's Island on the SNES.
This video is old but still useful so thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS VIDEO HELPED BE ABLE TO PLAY A GAME FROM MY CHILDHOOD AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you. It works for me and everything but I have a question. When I play DS games that require the touchscreen, I tap the bottom but it doesn't do anything. When I go into the manual or the game selection sceen, when I touch them to find something, it works fine then but just not in the actual DS game. What do I do??
Jack sorrell can you do a tutorial on speeding up Sega Saturn Nintendo we emulator on wii and can I do a tutorial on how to install dream cast 3do Atari jaguar ps2 xbox emulator on wii
OrelK r4 cards are jack shit tbh you have to worry about something called timebomb if you just hack a 3ds/ds you got so much less to have to worry about
I know it requires a meta folder to be in the game file. NDStoWIIU only creates a “code” and “content” from the rom rip. I have been searching the internet for a few days now and there is no answer to the question “How do we create the contents for a meta folder?”
@@rologaming9574 look for a rom of a game on the internet then download it, works with any game on ds. Now put it in the injector it will become a folder
Hello Jack! I know this video is.. kinda old xD but if someone is reading can someone help me? I have done everything correct and the game i want to play runs perfectly (the game is Mario and Luigi Bowser's inside story) but there 1 problem. On the tutorial fight at the start of the game, the game crash! I have tried everything and still crash i even tried installing the same game from different sites but still crash. At the start i was thinking the fault was of the ROMS soo i installed Super Mario 64DS and after selecting a file to start an adventure... white screen and... guess? Soft-lock... i don't know what do, can someone help me :,(?
Yeah that’s a problem with all bowser’s inside story Roms. I know you can change a few settings to fix it on desmume but I don’t know how to fix it on Wii U
Works like a charm! Except for one thing, it seems that the 10th game and above start getting a little weird. I’m assuming it is because of the [ABCD10] one puts in, any possible reason as to why?
I just got a Wii u, and I went to the eshop. Then I saw Kid Icarus Uprising and I got overhyped. I really wish u could play 3ds games without emulating'em
two questions if I attempt to homebrew my wii u will there be a risk of bricking it? can it be any DS game and not just from the e shop? (Kingdom Hearts Coded for example)
Pokémon Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 use bigger ROM sizes than most DS games, so I'm guessing the Wii U Virtual Console emulator wasn't made to support such ROMs. Soul silver and Mario Kart use smaller sizes so that's probably why they work.
This looks awesome but is there any way to adjust/increase the resolution like with desmume? Really want to get this up and running but the DS rooms looks awful in native resolution, there must be a way to use the extra power of the WiiU to increase the resolution up to 1080p.
Yay now I dont need to buy games from the eshop *that I already have* now I can just dump them, do this and voila! Edit: I need to find a dumping tutorial
Any idea if this works with non VC titles? I want to play a modified game (Newer Super Mario Bros. DS) and I have it as Newer Super Mario Bros DS.nds but it just freezes
got confirmation a while back that NewerDS is actually designed to crash on wii u. newer team designed it to not work because it would run into too many problems.
@@triborn217 The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld game console produced by Nintendo. It was announced in March 2010 and unveiled at E3 2010 as the successor to the Nintendo DS. The system features backward compatibility with older Nintendo DS video games. As an eighth-generation console, its primary competitor was Sony's PlayStation Vita.
You can install backups to your system and not have to connect to the internet, but to get the backups installed you have to use software not made by Nintendo. There is a way to run that software both on the internet or by having the files yourself and putting them on your home network or on a zSun wireless network adapter and use those without actually connecting to the internet. That's what I've done, I've used the zSun to run the exploit, installed games and everything else, and have been using it that way without ever connecting my Wii-U to the internet. I have a 100% success rate when running the exploits and have installed tons of games to the console and to a usb drive, and also have some loadiine games on the SD card in the system. Now I was looking for a way to run Nintendo DS games which brought me here.
