Thanks for the settings guide dude i was playing the emu with a mtk phone (realme narzo 20) and before Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3 was running on 42 - 56 Speed with your settings with your settings My Speed shot up to about 71 - 86 so thx for that

I agree. Simply incredible work by the dev. I thought it was still going to be years before we had PS2 emulation this good on Android. I can't wait for it to get even better.

i tried Sly 2 in my old, cheap Snap 632 entry level phone, ran very slow (arround 24 FPS at best). could be solved by bruteforcing you way into emulation (using a better, faster, newer SOC), i think anything slightly newer can do it very fine.
I really couldn't believe that I tried Medal of Honour Frontline on my Xaomi Mi 11 and it was running 60fps all through the beach landing, no way! but it does! So how many people uninstalled Damonps2 this weekend? LOL. I hope they release a gold version, so people can donate a few quid, they deserve a big thank you.
Fantastic emulator, silent hill 2 and final fantasy xii run brilliantly on sd855 without having to touch any settings at all! But it’s not just the speed in comparison to the emulator that shall not be named; it’s the complete lack (so far) of any major graphic glitches. If this is how well it works on release day, I’m very excited for the future!

I am testing resident evil 4 (NTSC one of course) and with v synch it cant keep to x2 on several cases (when you are in the village i think than some textures qre loading and even after...dip on the 40/45 on a s888 Note Vulkan is not bugged contrary to OpenGl i have notice than Leon is displayed on the side of the screen. I am in stretch i dlnt think it s du to that...(Vulkan no problem). MTVU activated of course. In x2 it s much eaer and begging to thery high ppi to look like a bit as the true remaster HD from Albert and Cris. Without v synch and problem cappage exact it have some high speed on some things as menu, inventory, etc when you picked an item and yes the game is very easy to run here. But in general it s doable but tol much variations. (Disps sometimes due to very high demanding x2) Specially re4 was a portage of the gamecube version. Flr an almha it s very good itself. I dont if some hack would be use but it dont seem for this one case...
Awesome emulator, in alpha is already pretty solid. I have tested Saint Seiya the Hades, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Devil May Cry 3 SE and Resident Evil Code Outbreak 2 and they are performing very well on SD845. Nice tutorial Taki!

Is your OS still MIUI or have you got some sort of custom ROM? Only asking because I can't load the game directory in the app and I'm trying to work out why.
Don't get your hopes up Just yet, i have It on my 865 too and a lot of games aren't fixed. Black Is not fixed, The incredible Hulk(2008) Is not fixed, all Spiderman Games are not fixed. But Hey, lots of games are effectively fixed i outta admit and this Is Just a beta version, so let's Hope it'll get even Better in the future!
Are u playing with a controller? If yes, how did u get the l2/r2 buttons to work? I connected my xbox controller and it automaticamly works, except the l2/r2 buttons, and it also seems like u can't map them...

I just downloaded this and tested it after watching this video. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S20. I have thus far tried out Ape Escape 2, Zone of the Enders 2, Rogue Galaxy, and Dark Cloud 2 with no issues so far. I'm surprised that it works this well in the open beta stage.
Humm for dark cloud 2 (as known as dark chronicles too) Game was natively buggues i remember well..Beware where you crafted and first battle wkth Max's Robot (if heroe guy called Max in US version dont knlw) Just know that evenlf the ps2 game crashed ..lftn due to big bug who was never fixed (more true in pal version i talk by exmerience). Same if you use Sould calibur 3 beware lf the infamous save corruption.
@@johannparis9445 I was able to progress past that part with no issue, though in correction to my last post, ZOE2's framerate tanks then crashes on certain scenes when a lot is shown on screen at one time. Klonoa 2 has a bug where the green winged objects that you repell off of are way off from where they should be preventing further progression.

I will add to as i suspected and someone confirmed too but increase the définition internal as x3 may crash some games if you hadnt enough ...ram So if you have a 8go ram or more...More ou less you can do GT4 by example. Lthers tweak i have notice.. If you use the graphical settings " presented frame" you will have a massive boost if your gpu can handle it (it will heat more in logicial however) True for some games depending of your soc... With a high end i have notice that by exepple not use MTVU gave a massive framerate boost for Resident evil 4 When combining with frame mresentation i was able to reach in x3...between at least 70+ fpsnat 150/200 demending of the moment (inventory at 150+ , ingame 70/90 fps Frame limiter off Wkth on i have noticed a bug that i reported Contrary to have 60 fps in this case you will tank to hover 35/45 fps...not 60 fps With à 100% normal speed.... With 101% you will get effectively...59/62 fps (due to 1% in plus) Like if you break the barrier... Very weird Notice some big slowdonws in the castle. Wondering if it s due to throttle...but i will see Maybe because frame presentation With no underclock for the two EE

Seem line glitch yes Saw also in FFX on some mushrooms platform a weird bug. Someone has shlw also a video too In the ffx case i remember it s due to widescreen x4 fkxing... For the crash....i knlw that some games it s because lf the fastmem in settings.. But it s true specially when you launch them..not after Your s20 has how many ram and what internal definition are you using ? Heavy game i remember it (heavy sfx and speed ) I wont be surprise if you % use of GS for the gpuwas high so as...the ram/gpu usage...
@@johannparis9445 for ZOE2, I believe that my S20 has 8 gigs of ram. Not exactly a gaming phone so graphics heavy games like that are likely outside my threshold. I looked into the misplaced objects glitch in Klonoa 2, the the PCSX2 emulator for PC patched the issue but the old fix was switch the EE/FPU to "nearest or negative", which doesn't seem to be an option in Aether. But hey, this is the open beta, it is still in its infancy.
Best thing to do is root phone and install custom kernel that allows turning off cores. Then you can manually set your CPU speed to Max and turn off your weakest cores to force affinity to the strongest cores. Plus it has a side benefit of saving battery.
Just bought a Bluetooth controller from Amazon. And if anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it. Can't seem to set it up with the app. Its showing on my phone but when I pull up the emulator it's not working
Holy beans, this is amazing. Honestly own most of the PS2 games I'd want to play, but simply for convenience this is amazing. Daily drive and iPhone and my best Android device is a OnePlus 5t with 8gb of memory but it surprisingly plays very well for such a dated device.
For kicks I tested it on a g80, g95 and sd870. Shocked that it is able to play several games even on the g80. Like Alien Hominid. Which is a good test for low end devices. God Hand was able to run at 50 frames. Both needed tweaking. g95 which is what a GPD XP has fares better with more games. With a SD870 you can run any game without tweaking. Very Impressive. We went from needing a SD888 to run PS2 well. To it being possible in a SD835 or SD732G with Qualcomm. And a G95 or D600 with MediaTek. That sure is an immense jump.
Thanks for this! Just tested Front mission 4 on a SD 845. I enabled EE Cycle Skip to Maximum and Preload textures. It frame skips here and there especially on the map. Other than that, it's playable. Will do more testing once I progress through the game and post my feedback.
The only other tweak I needed for a higher end SOC (galaxy S21 ultra) was to switch the graphical rendering from openGL to software - that made an immediate huge difference, paired with some of the others in this list, to get a smooth 60fps out of Armored Core 3!
Played Kingdom Hearts 2 up to the point where the Axel Vs. Dual Wielding Roxas fight. My potato PC (dual core intel e2200 2.2ghz and a GT240) was struggling to emulate that particular fight(and the last xigbar fight) even at the lowest of the lowest of settings (minecraft graphic levels) It ran full speed by enabling only - multithreaded VU support - 2x native scaling - GPU pallete conversion - preload textures - throttle present rate Xiaomi Pocophone F1 SD 845. edit1: will report back here after playing through the game. Though, I think I'll be playing the KH2: Final Mix Ver. Edit:2 After going through and finishing the boss fight, the game slows from 100% to 60% upon the boss' death animation. Meh, as long as it still plays throughout the game smoothly, I'm not complaining.
i have asus zenfone 5z with SD845 Ram/Rom 6/128 GB. First game i try is Black. The opening and menu is really good, but when in gameplay, it turns to super lag. The native setting i try is for mid to high phone and for low end phone, both came with the same results. I still can't make Black playable right now.

This is pretty badass. When it is all finished and finalized I can't wait to see how it ends up. I ran champions of norrath on a galaxy note 10+. Wasn't super smooth but for being on a phone it ran pretty well 😀
I found it interesting trying the note20 ultra for this, Legaia 2 had some dips in fps, but ran quite well. Love how this runs way better than any other released in the past
I'm going to test it on a Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G, it has a MTK and Mali so i think it's not going to be optimal, but i'm going to test it. Actually something weird thing happened while testing Gamecube, in the video you show that vulkan doesn't work with Mali, and in my phone OpenGL doesn't works in Dolphin. (I'm going to test Persona 4, DQ, Okami, NFS Underground, MC:3, that's the disc's that i have in hand, let's see if MTK 1100 works better than the 900) *Thanks to the dev('s), you are amazing.
Amazing performance for Emulator in early access. I tested 4 games on Oneplus 7t with Snapdragon 855+: Ultimate Spiderman - this game is not properly emulated even on dolphin, so i decided to give it a go. Vulkan and Opengl have some visual glitches so i this case i used Software render and after some actions on options i managed to get it to work with 100% performance but is drops even to 80%. Game is playable but im looking forward to some performacne updates. Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3 - very playable 100% with minor fps drops. The Lord of The Rings: Third Age - played about an hour, 100% playable without fps drops. Bleach Blade Battelers 2nd - when 4 characters are in area most of the time game is around 80%, i tried different options and cant achieve 100% for longer than couple of seconds, for me its not playable at the moment.
this emulator is game changer it can run god of war 2 so smooth my max fps is 45 i haven't tried kingdom hearts 2 final mix yet hope it runs smooth too
Just tried the emulator on my Samsung S21 with the inhouse CPU (SD wasn't available) and exoerienced severe issues. Couldn't get anything to run. OpenGL is producing graphic glitches to an unplayable state an Vulkan doesn't work at all. Software Mode does somewhat work but is really slow. But I am still happy to see some developement in regards to PS2 Emulation on Android! Keep up the good work. I hope for some further developement in adressing the Hardware issues aside from SD Devices 😀

Heyy Taki, new sub here.I know i'm late but I just wanna know if the mid range settings work on sd665 ? I really wanna heal my inner child but I dont have any access to PS2 emulator other than my phone. I've downloaded Spartan Total Warrior and Samurai Warriors Xtreme Legend but didnt extract it yet because I don't know how to setup my settings. Probably a medium graphic and smooth gameplay. Please 🛐
@@StablestLeaf ah yes but engine will be broken too.. I have notice that desactivated MTVU make a big différence too. Was having dips towards the 45 fps to 52 in x2 Vulkan ... But without it boom ! 70+ I have lock the v synch on for having better framepacing and avoid tearing. For Resident evil 4 as i suspected very single thread dependant not at all multi threads (same for pc version even the true modded hd one). If v synch off i am at least in the 60/75 fps until well ...more than 130/140 (inventory ) and much yet when i picked items but game become TOO fast (engine broken).
Please advise best setting for Shin megami tensei DIGITAL DEVIL SAGA. I have problem with Open GL and Valcan, asoftware render is playable but ofter frame drop to below 20. Sound is no good. Cutscenes are slow. Phone: Samsung S21 Ultra 5G (not snapdragon)
So many settings for a single game. Rather wait another year or two when all of this is set automatically based on your hardware for any game you want to play. This is brutal.
@@TakiUdon I mean yes. Its pretty easy to have auto configs for each game that set the settings accordingly. Not talking about hardware that runs every game without any settings. I just want auto settings done behind the scenes. This is too much hoop jumping to play one game.
I think the main setting is the underclocking by default. Not sure why that's the way it is, the baseline setting should be normal and you adjust from there. As soon as I changed that DOA2 Hardcore was running at 60 fps 2x Native res on my Galaxy S20 FE 5G(snapdragon 865).
The developer is awesome! So far, I've tried Red Faction, TimeSplitters 1-3, Crash TWOC, Tekken Tag, and I've had almost no issues with any of them. I'm using a Samsung S20 Plus
I have Dynasty Warrior 3 ISO on my internal phone storage. But the emulator still doesn't recognize the ISO file. And when I try to run it manually the BIOS keeps saying "please insert PS2 format disc." I already installed and tick the BIOS but still failed to run a game. I'm using pocophone F1 rn with SD845.
