This video may not hit the algorithm but it is by far the most comprehensive video for brand new players like me. Something I’ll keep coming back to over these next few weeks I’m sure.

they removed the m4a1 and replaced it with the mk18 guys. not sure why they removed it when they could've kept it alongside the other gun. although they are very similar so it works.
First when I saw the video I was like "Dude, this guy must have over 50k" then I saw only a thousand subscribers. You're genuinely underrated, and this was probably, if not one of the best guides I've seen out there. You've gained yourself a new subscriber :D
This is a great guide but there are a couple of things I do want to stress to beginners that I don't think was mentioned in the video: 1) Do not take the customization featured in the vid as "the meta". Once you get used to the game, try experimenting with different loadouts, armor, and equipment to find what works for you. End of the day, its not what you use but how you use it. Firepower is only as good as your tactics. 2) Avoid standing infront of doors when possible. The AI can and will shoot through them occassionally if they know you are coming. This is true to life and as such, IRL SWAT will always open or peek doors from the sides. This applies to windows too. 3) Teamwork. Whether it be offline with the AI or in Co-Op, teamwork is key. This is especially true in more the challenging scenarios. 4) Take it slow. Enemies and civilians will never be in the same places twice. Check every corner and yes, under beds, tables, and closets. If you do want to speed things up a little, flashbangs are your friends. 5) Tripwires. Tying in to the above point, a door may be wired up with a trap so check before opening or walking through. If you see a tripwire, you or an AI team mate can disarm it. And let any Co-Op buddies know before they decide to walk through. 6) Have fun! Probably the most important point above all. Regardless of how you play this game, just have fun. 'Nuff said.
I was into videos of this game, and instantly fell in love with it, but was worried about how complicated the controls would be, I found this guide and was amazed by how a complicated game can be explained so easily. Defo getting this game and can’t wait to play it😊😊😊 Tysm for taking the time for this
I think it was pretty huge oversight to not mention FSR under the graphics section. I had to send my GPU to warranty a while back and I'm using an older one for now. Turning FSR on gives a massive fps boost to the game (doubled the frames in my case), while still looking pretty damn good at quality option.
for ammo customization, ik this is just me, but ive never over-penetrated a suspect into a civi, and since i can never seem to kill with jhp, i just prefer ap

Bought this game a year or so ago but never really played it. Just had some friends start playing and decided to join in. Thanks for the in depth crash course, I'm sure it will help me get up to snuff and maybe even teach them a thing or two :)
Finally someone who plays this game like it's supposed to be played. Not like an average COD player running and gunning everyone (I really hate the excuse that it's easier and all this crap - it's a SWAT game in the first place). Big thumbs up for you.
That's a MK18, not an M4A1, but this video was a year ago so I'm pretty sure I'm just saying what is probably already known. Edit: It is an M4A1. I got confused and didn't even know about the Adam update.
Don’t forget the free lean, you get fine tuning in your lean and it allows you to duck or rise from cover. So if you’re crouching and your head is exposed over a table or half wall you can free lean lower once or twice and be fully concealed, wait for the rounds to stop then spring back up to return fire. You have to be stationary to free lean but it’s helpful when shooting around a corner or over cover and you don’t want to fully expose w a hard lean angle. Holding LAlt is the base input but switching LAlt to toggle is generally a better feeling for me personally
Yeah, free lean is definitely where it's at in certain circumstances. It allows you to lean further as well, which adds more depth to your bag of tricks.
Kinda neat and overlooked that you can peek the door and just move into it to open it as it is a physical object you can push. Very useful with shield :)

I'm getting the game tomorrow during the Steam sale, the game is really cool but, i saw many videos and the AI is really bad, not agressive or smart at all, too many civilians, need to report everything, to secure everybody, i feel the pain in the ass already, just waching it, the game has pvp? PVP would be great! Bad guys vs good guys and change sides after the round, 3 rounds total, first to get 2 rounds wins. Can't we cut the buiding energy first to have a lot of advantage?
thanks! and the AI used to be much worse! They dont all have aimbot now haha but It is a slower paced game by design. You dont HAVE to report everyone. Only if you want a higher score which is only for personal satisfaction. You can go through the level and clear it and go for a fast time or just for fun. PVP would be neat but not in the game as of now. For early access the game feels and looks really great!
It's quite a heavy game in terms of the maps (ex. school sh**tings, human trafficking etc.), so if you are looking for a shooter game that is conforting but still realistic, I don't recommend this game for you. For that I'd rather recommend Escape from Tarkov or Squad.
As someone relatively new to tactical shooters compared to most others who picked this gem up, I have to say this video was an absolute lifesaver. The sheer amount of control you have of your character and choices with equipment was pretty overwhelming, but this guide cleared everything up for me! Thank you.

Thank you for the tips, I just purchased ROR and i noticed that I don't have M4A1 ? was it replaced by mk18? everything seems the same but without +5 pmag.
14:25 one thing i wanna add is, i have the walk key bound to alt and i alt tab a lot. and sometimes the game thinks i'm still holding alt when i go back to it.
I noticed this in your video as well as my own gameplay.... it appears you cannot have 5 mags for the primary gun. I always get stopped out at 4 mags, just as you did. So if you choose to have more than 4, you are effectively losing an extra slot!
Why are the developers not changing the fact that the game is really overwhelming at the start? There is no npc talking with you, nobody to introduce you to the missions or headquarters, so weird
For the same reason u aren't in the military but have a bunch of tactiC00L guns and a video called EFT in real life xD ppl like to have fun playing pretend

Great video! Super helpful guide and the demo servered as a great first look at the game. As someone not too familiar with tactical shooters, this gave me a great starting foundation and look into the flow.

I wish I knew that I could gear up the AI in load outs right away. I feel they stress out too easily though. One even is always jumping ahead of me and i ended up killing him. As soon as I pull far enough away from the door to ADS he jumps in front of me.
So I just downloaded and I’m playing on the steam deck, when I select the mission it says in the corner press “Y” to get ready and none of my buttons are Y, any thoughts?
Game is so unpolished. They haven't updated it in 6 months. The other day I had the beanbag shotty > shot a suspect and he literally didn't even react lol the modding community is doing more to this game then the devs. Hell, there's even no brightness/gamma setting lmao
Glad it helped! And I go that route as its not often I find I get hit from the sides. And I think the extra plates slow you down a little. Its really up to you though and depends on play style and such!
Why do Americans say "go ahead and..." so much. I'm less than 4 mins in and I've already heard that phrase almost 100 times. "Go ahead and click this", "go ahead and turn that off", just say "click this" and "turn that off". What's with the "go ahead?"
