I don't like playing vanilla legendary, but I like watching people play it. No matter what you do to the game, as many RU-vidrs have shown, you *can* always beat the game (except keeping your character's hands bound) You can beat the game with 1 health, and without killing anything... hell you can probably do both. I use mods to add difficulty at adept because using the setting changes, to me, makes the characters too spongy. While I *could* beat it on legendary, the amount of grind and the play style required, just makes the not fun for me, I don't wanna spend an hour collecting ingredients or planning what missions to do hours beforehand. That's not what i play Skyrim for, but if you do enjoy doing all this I can definitely understand that, I do that sorta stuff with other games so go ahead and play legendary. TLDR: People play different games for different reasons, the idea of RPG games is that you play whatever way you like. Whichever you play... shut up and let people enjoy the way they like to play. Vanilla legendary, modded adept, or novice vanilla but you can only use telekinesis buckets for kills... all are valid.

I really miss a vanilla playthrough of Skyrim, good for you! You might be interested to make a staff of storm atronach, it can be done pretty easy and cheap, even at the beginning of the game, I find it to be very helpful on Legendary Playthroughs. Also, since you do vanilla, you could check out some nice mechanic exploits left there by Bethesda, such as: The aspect of terror + fire spells, or the Necromage perk, if you intend to become Vampire.

hey I was watching previous part, well it is nice to see someone playing on legendary, but I gave up because I got tired of getting enchantment, alchemy and smithing up to 100 so make badass enchantment armor and badass potions

When will the playthrough be done? When you defeat Alduin or when you are simply, done with it? And WHAAT can you get a farm?

Do you not go to markath to get full dwarven amour/weapons or go to the orc stronghold to get full orcish armour/weapons? That would be decent for the axe as well as dwarven sirhing is quite low so you could improve the axe by quite a bit :)

People who say "Legendary difficulty is too easy" problably uses the restoration potion glitch.

Duel destruction with stagger firebolts and chain lighting. You can literally play legendary any way as normal. It's more about your knowledge of the game

Ive been playing as a mage on legendary and honestly I got bored because of how much damage you do with you magic and its soo expensive to cast even with the perks for more damage

Found you yesterday started playing on legendary as well and fury is really underrated spell i never used and is awesom anyway great content.

It is easy if you play like a conjurer and try to evade hits. You can do it bro, we believe in you.

I've done one playthrough on legendary from the start, but I didn't like it because I had to use so many potions. Pause the menu the entire damn time, especially in the beginning of the game. Takes me out of the immersion. Liked that I did it once, but wouldn't really do it again.

Protip: Garlic + Salt. Super easy to gather early in the game, and makes a potion that sells well and is worth decent XP (and is useful for wizards)

I beat the Ebony Warrior on Expert today, I regret not turning up the difficulty to master though. I started on Legendary and even duel wielding with two weapons almost doing 100 damage each it was still like hitting him with a stick =(

I started on legendary and went from there, as I’m a sucker for pain, but I can give you a decent tip, get restorations quickly and get uthgerd the unbroken at low lvs, it isn’t that hard in later lvs but if you start up a game on legendary This will be a huge help, also if you use kajit (forgive my horrible spelling lol) don’t use weapons in early lvs and get gloves off the dude in the ratway, I really do hope this was helpful for anyone that tries legendary for the first time and is stuck in a level wall.

You can eat alchemy ingredients to learn what their first property is, plus more with the right alchemy perks. It's an easy way to start levelling your alchemy skill since you will have a good start figuring out what ingredients go together. If you're lucky, mixing two items that already have 1 effect in common may turn out to have 2 or more effects!

Another good video. My sword quest had me needing to go to Valtheim Towers. I don't want to go there yet, so I pretended the sword was in same place as yours. I'll just put off doing retrieve the sword quest until we get around to doing Valtheim Towers.

100% agree with taking any build and making it work. Vanilla is grand!!! Screw those that are telling ya it aint hard enough. Mooks. LMAO However lol IF you get one (a mod) some day and wanna tweak it towards an actual RPG feel all-around, try out Elegy. It's on my current load order (XboxOne) and it might be a permanent keeper in the future. Does it make it "harder". Well, yes, but only because it takes the game and veers it towards taking time to build up your character at the beginning. But i will always keep and play my vanilla builds on this and Fallout 4/Fallout New Vegas. Just doesn't give me the sense of accomplishment if I can't take the game the way it's given and find a way to make it work on the hardest difficulty in my own way.

I'm glad I stumbled across these. I'm currently playing through a Legendary playthrough for the first time. Focusing on Archer build (not stealth) and using a sword and board as a backup if I can't create enough distance. My first random encounter in the game was a troll, and even with a follower we couldn't out damage its health regen. Now that my archery skill is above 80 I can kill most things with patience. My biggest obstacle is trying not to shoot my follower in the back because they like to strafe.

That explains why flames seems so powerful. When you pulse flames things die fast even on Legendary.

People actually think dual-casting isn't a passable build? My very first mage was just that, and I still to this day only do dual-casting... It's really easy actually. I feel like I misunderstood what you were talking about because I'm so caught off guard by the idea that people think it's not usable. Wwwwwhat???

Snowberry+Dragon's Tongue+Thistle = decent fire+frost resist, plus faster alchemy skill because multiple effects, and/or decent $$$, bankrupting poor Arcadia in short order because multiple effects

Also question - why do you keep putting so many point into magicka if eventually you are just gonna reduce spell costs to 0%?? Now that you have around 200ish magicka you shouldn’t level up magicka anymore and focus either health or stamina I guess. Maybe a tiny bit more magic wouldn’t hurt but the thing is if you are going for a 0 cost build then you don’t need a ton of magicka lol

I know you said "this is a vanilla playthrough" but have you considered using the engine fix mod and the unofficial skyrim patch mod? They just make the game more stable and correct some bugs. Just sayin. I like this series though :D

I'd never play legendary difficulty this way. I start by focusing on crafting, You can level up quite fast by avoiding heavy combat and focus on mining ore and picking flowers and fighting the occasional wolf or spider. Once my gear is on point than I can get into legendary difficulty battles easier.

Drinking beer on my own while watching this during corona curfew bullshit, and i like it very much. Thank u sir for making these! Never played on legendary mode myself since it doesn't make the game more fun, but just makes the enemies damage sponges. Seeing other people suffer playing like this is pretty great though.

So quick tip. It's best to only pick things up for selling if it's worth 1000x it's weight. Also get the transmute spell for the place this episode started in and mine everything. Make jewelry to sell and you'll be rich in no time.

If you want to stay 99.99% vanilla but still remove some minor jank i would suggest VioLens - A Killmove Mod and turning off kill moves. I have played on legendary and god getting screwed over by random kill moves is the worst.

Once you get conjuring to 100 talk to phinnious gester in the collage of winter hold and you have to talk to him about a sign stone and I highly recommend you whatch ESO’s vid on it I can’t really explain it but you can summon daedric armor and staffs and daedric followers and wepions

Still find it incredibly annoying that Illusion and Conjuration trail off late game. Even with perks eventually you get to enemies that are too high level to affect with Illusion spells and Summons eventually don't deal enough damage to justify their magicka cost. Alteration at least is always useful because it adds more resistances on top of armor.

I like to rush smithing to 30 and then travel to markarth and rob calcelmos lab to craft dawarven bows they lvl good and also sell quite well. Plus the dwarven armor is early really good if u also play the lexicon sidequest increasing the armorrating by 25 %

I'm not sure every build is viable in legendary (for example a normal one handed shield appears extremely difficult to me), but it sure makes all of them, maybe except sneak ones, extremely tedious. Good commentary otherwise

So i kinda started legendary and il admit...it was hard with my bad luck but i just eneded up doing my old strategy which is get soul trap,grind it till you get 100 in conjour,go to the mage school,do that little quest with the stone and then buy the dermora lord spell and put the perk points into the conjour tree for everything besides the bound weapons and i was set...took like an hour to set up but was fun

It would be nice to learn anything about skyrim on legendary difficulty straight away, instead of listening to your reasons for something 98% of people who watch this don't care about

So if you don't have the mage armor perk what's the harm in wearing gauntlets and boot armor, if I am wrong please let me know, but I can't see any downside other than maybe speed reduction if you wear heavy

Play mods if you enjoy them, but im still entertained that watching you beat vanilla skyrim on legendary. From experience its quite fun but infuriating at times

Only mods Id used for vanilla run is graphics enhancer but keep at it I enjoy watching a smart Skyrim run unlike me who fkin runs around like a madman killing everyone

Ya after I get my armor max and get the spell cost to 0, i wreak havock as a battlemage. Maybe make a mention in the next vid on how to do battlemage?

You can also get a ton of food stuff from the kitchen in the palaces. You might have to steal if you're not a Thane but that shouldn't be a problem at night.

If you want merchants to have more gold you should take the perks that the game has instead of glitching.

You might want to get conjure bow and sword and add perk for dmg in conjuration and add in archery and one handed some perks (not sure if adds on conjured weapons)

Anything you looted would make him so much stronger Also, being on fire does not increase the damage they receive from external sources, it just means you add 10-20% to the damage indicated on the spell.

I would play legendary vanilla but the game has game breaking bugs so I get mods to fix that shit.
