To play split screen in Fortnite on Xbox Series S, you need two controllers and two accounts that are friends with each other. You also need to choose Duos or Squads from the multiplayer menu, as Solo Mode does not support split screen. After launching Fortnite with your main account, turn on the second controller and log in with the secondary account by pressing and holding Y.
