SimplySoccer hi idk if I should stay in my club in the top division where my main friend has left and I don't really have any proper friends in the team, or if I should move to the third division team he's moved to in which I think I will enjoy playing more. I would move to the new club but the only thing holding me back is that I'm 14 and if there's any chance of me getting scouted now, it's probably more likely to be in my current team. I can also always try something like UK football trials to get scouted.

Another reason to shoot often- if you show early on in a game that you're not afraid to shoot (and hopefully shoot well), it makes the defenders more predictable. Since they know you want to shoot, it becomes a million times easier to sell them with a fake shot or stepover. They know they have to stop your shot, so use that to your advantage.

I am a winger but my coach plays me as a striker. So most often I make my runs collecting the ball from the sides which I think I do better in, because already I have wingers abilities, but my coach hates it so much. He always tells me to stand in between the 2centre backs,and that's difficult for me because i am not that very much competitive in aerial balls.

I played 5 years in amateur leagues as a winger now is my second year as a Striker and i feel a lot more comfortable as striker because of the more space I have for my skill moves. Look this as an opportunity and try to use your winger abilities to your favour as striker :) btw dont worry for the airballs most good strikers are short and pacy not tall and big guys who collect airballs just look for the through balls not the hign ones

Hoodrixh go to some playground and practise but remeber you dont need very hardcore shoot to score.. ball must be just going in to the goal the speed is not first thing at the ball in the air..

I think you forgot the probably most important thing: Always stay alert, wait for mistakes and try to read situations. I've scored countless goals from shitty contacts of defenders who hit over the ball or made some failed and risky backpasses simply because I always gambled on them making mistakes. Especially in high pressure situations were a defender is forced to turn around and play the ball back to GK or a CB they tend to not look up and/or play a very weak pass which a striker can intercept if he stays alert. Another thing I'd suggest is to always monitor the GKs position. If you notice he's 25m in front of his own goal and you win the ball back high up the pitch, don't hesistate to try for a shot.

Originally was a midfielder but was moved up as a striker, im new to this I only have about 3 goals in total none have been glamorous but I’m trying to be the best I can for my team as well as for myself. Thank you for the vid, it had helped me and I hope to implement this in my game.

I rarely get the ball passed to me but I always make big plays when I do get the ball. So I wasn’t sure if it was my positioning being the reason I didn’t get the ball that much so I came to this video and this clarifies a lot for me. Time to find a new team I guess😂

Thanks for the video and the advice. Have been on a bit of a dry spell in terms of goals (3 games without a goal) but I am working at it. I would call myself a good defensive striker which impacts the game positively on the defensive end ( The difference in goals conceded when I play and when I don't is big.), and I am alright on the offensive end, but I lack that difference making abitlity in the final 3rd. Also, I just transitioned from playing goal keeper to striker around a year ago, so I am still working at it. My Strenghts: 1) Defensive work (I work hard off the ball), 2) Being a pest for the opposition defense I am always moving trying to get a goal scoring opportunity making runs. 3) Precision shooting 4) Finishing one on ones vs goal keeper (as long as their is no defender near me impacting my play) 5) Hold up play and being an outlet 6) Speed 7) Pressing (good at reading the play and trapping opposition players with my pressing) 8) Poacher (when the ball is near the ground and not whipped in off a cross) 9) Stamina My weeknesses: 1) Doing smart runs I do a lot of runs but have a hard time timing them sometimes 2) Shot Power 3) Beating players 1 v 1 (skill moves) 4) Finishing off croses (Hit the bar off a voley my last game) I have a hard time finishing when the ball is whiped in at high speeds even sometimes on the ground (timing) 5) Sometimes a bit too much of a team player And that is pretty much all I can think off for now, thanks for sharing these tips, I am sure they will help me improve :).

This is a lifesaver. I'm a goalkeeper, but was recently in a meat slicer accident and had to get stitches on my finger. Unfortunately, I'm out for a week and a bit, no handling whatsoever. I used to be a goalkeeper but I never really enjoyed it because I didn’t get involved enough in the play. I asked my coach to change my position and I moved to striker. He put me at striker so that I wouldn’t have to track back as much and things like that because I hadn’t learned things like that yet. Later on after I started scoring goals and became good at the position. Now I’m not getting on as good and I don’t know why, but I feel like this video has helped me and I’ll find out if it has tomorrow for my game. ⚽️ 🥅

I am weakest at finishing,, i van play much better but just,, due to teammates pressure i get confused , weather to pass or go solo,,, but i can say i am pretty good ,, not too good just good, at shooting,,, i can also go solo but,, everytime i miss the goalss ,, even open goalss,.
