This is the best bow guide I have seen so far. I really appreciate the half charge tri-stringer tips and I think I understand the weapon now. Going to give it another shot now!
great guide! i've been maining tri-stringer since day one and making a bunch of advanced guide videos about it, but i couldn't have done this guide better myself. fun watch. it's great to see love for the stringers
Tri Stinger is in Zones amazing too. First, the arrows keep enemys away. And second: since they explode with a delay, the enemy can't really paint over them, since they will explode afterwards. So this part of the zone is painted in your color for like 1 sec, no matter what. And if you do that a lot on the enemys side of the zone, then this is huge!
From a tri-stringer main, this is a very informative video. If I would add anything, I'd just say vertical half-shots are fantastic for painting walls, horizontal full charges aimed at the floor are fantastic and often enough to splat players rushing you -and are a nice present for any shooter that manages to splat you at point blank, and a main of object shredder will let a fully charged shot destroy a wave breaker in one hit. Also, if you use the tri-stringer, add this to you aim drills: line up two dummies so one is fully blocking the other, aim slightly above the first dummy, and attempt to get a one-shot vertical on the second behind it. The dummies on ledges and the moving ones behind the ramp are good practice for blind shots as well. Maps like Barnacle & Dime have so many hiding spots in mid that with a little positioning are well within range of the tri-stringer to rain on.
im a reeflux lover but never understood how to use the vanilla stringer and using this tutorial for the shiver pallete in side order, really helpful!!!!
I have always played fast shorter range weapons but wanted to learn this headlining new weapon. The tri stringer is so fun to use after getting the hang of it. Paints well, great range, survivable when rushed. You don’t try to get direct kills as much as chargers but kills feel so satisfying.
I love these weapons, but I've been hesitant to use them as many people have been saying they aren't great, thanks for giving me the motivation to try these weapon out again!
I’ve been having lots of fun with the tristringer since the past couple of weeks, but lately I’ve been getting curbstomped back to back in separate lobbies 😭 I feel learning the partial charge is easier, learning when to push and when to stay back is the make-or-break factor. As a request, Can you make a video/give a few tips about playing backline and positioning with the tristringer? Awesome video and tips btw, thank you so much 😊
One thing to note is that on both weapons, tap shots have a lower multiplier on the rainmaker shield than half charge and full charge shots. I can't recall the exact numbers or which mode has a higher dps, but I remember them being about the same
Okay, I want to get one thing clear: Splatoon 3 is the first Splatoon I ever played. So, I'm not much of an expert in the game and all the different mechanics or all that other stuff. However, I'm playing this game since the end of September/start of October. The Stringer (and in my case, the Tri Stringer [yes I main this weapon]) isn't the easiest to use, but once you get the hang of it, you could be quite dangerous on the battlefield. I still have a lot to discover about this weapon class (and Splatoon in general), but I really enjoyed it this far. That being said, this guide is really helpful, so thank you very much!
I just had my first ever 0 win series and it's making me realize that this weapon is VERY team dependant I'm still learning, and I've only played about 9 games so far, however, and these videos are REALLY helpful to me. 🙂
Btw you are SOOOO!!!! GOATED!!! For the Cross Code music!!! I freaking love cross code. Such a phenomenal game. And I’m a stringer main tryna improve. Diving in to this video!
I’d like to say I’m a pretty good Tri Stringer main. Not the best but definitely not a newbie. Tri-Stringer is definitely good for Tower Control, since it’s so small and how big the arrows are. It’s also good for Rainmaker; quickly exploding the rainmaker shield and yadayada. I like to think Tri-Stringer is basically a Charger that’s not afraid to be in the battle, and not staying behind.
Honestly both angles work at a distance, you really don’t want to go for one shots with the tri stringer unless you have a clear lineup, also never use killer whale as an attacking option, use it to reposition/bait for a quick and easy punish If you’re getting rushed, yes do 1st charges and if they hit Bombard them with flicks, it’s much more reliable to consistently do. If you’re using super chumps, treat them as nothing more as bait, turf, and repositioning. While the super chumps are active use them as a meet shield to charge up the tri and go in for a quick and easy punish, DO NOT USE TOXIC MIST TO CATCH OPPONENTS! Toxic mist is nothing more than a “oh shit better not go over there, I’ll wait it out.” Punish accordingly. Tri stringer arches are very niche but good for repositioning. as a tri stringer your goal is to stay alive for as long as possible, repositioning your opponents, and adding chip damage. Going for kills will always be viable but those are your main job as a tri stringer, never be scared to get in your opponents face, your offense is weak if you play weakly. I didn’t mention sprinkler advice cause sprinkler sucks, use it to cap zone and fill your special gauge there merry christmas
I’ve been using a different gun for about a day because I felt like I wasn’t good with the tri stringer because I didn’t know how it worked but this video really helps
pretty good, but just a few things I'd like to note as somebody who exclusively plays tri-stringer. First, the trick with hitting 2 of the 3 tap shot arrows also works up close with a vertical, and from my tests is fairly consistent if you can dodge at least a bit. As well, when going for kills it's actually usually best to try and angle it with a vertical so that all of the arrows land on where the enemy is going to be, and at worst the AoE will get in some extra chip to kill them with a stray single arrow. Otherwise, this does seem to be a pretty good guide to the weapon class and it's great to see more coverage of this incredibly technical weapon
tristringer gets value from thermal in most maps depending on the mode imo. BUT, it does not trigger from explosion, only from direct arrow hits. Since this weapon doesn't "need" any specific gear to function, you can use thermal. I like it for tower + RM. Zones, i prefer full main ink save.
Is that Pokémon battle revolution music I hear? Automatic like but I have been looking for guides about the Tri-stringer cause I really want to get a better understanding of the weapon I like the spread of the Tri-stringer it’s so awarding when I get a splat with it.
See no wonder stringers are so annoying 😂 I always thought they just had incredibly good game sense and read me(even when I was at B rank lmao) didn’t know you can see who you chipped on the map
