Join me to learn the chords and strumming patterns for this classic by iconic singer/songwriter Gordon Lightfoot. We'll do a slow playalong to prepare for a full speed playalong towards the end of the video. Learn the actual version of the song as well as a campfire EZ version. Also - we'll talk about a bit of lead playing over a one chord vamp used in this song. So fun!
Songsheets are always available at / guitaratwork
As always, we'll be playing with the fabulous BEATBUDDY drum machine pedal and we'll be using the amazing AEROS Loop Studio pedal from Singular Sound.

I would love to hear the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Would listen Gordon when I was heading to work everynight and morning when I was on the way home. I found some guitar tabs online and I could play it but I want to hear the more of a way that we could play, Gordon was one of my favorite singers and his music. I really wish I could hear you teach others like me the others out there.

This is fantastic, I mean a great lesson to learn a Gordon Lightfoot song and some more lead stuff to play with….and it’s Friday to boot😎. Life is good. We’re finally back from down south which means I can finally play with my BeatBuddy and I have to say it’s been a blast to play along with. What I’ve found is when I slow a song down just a bit my chord changes are way more consistent. I’d slow down before but I think without the steady beat I would speed up then when I had a problem, I’d pause and just sound terrible. This has helped keep me on track. Thanks again for all your work Shane, hope all is good and your doing well Wally
