Ok, so who attacks first....Freddy or the other character? Whomever turn it is? So if Freddy initiated it on his turn, does he attack first, and kill them...or does the other character have the opportunity to play mirror and kill Freddy after the attack??
The best way to describe this game is really that of a card game that has a physical board merely for the purpose of moving your pawn around in order to collect the right cards to either defeat Freddy (or if your Freddy defeat the players.) It's very similar to clue in that regard. There is also a storytelling aspect of the game. It actually serves 2 purposes: one purpose is to exhaust as many cards as you can telling a story so you can collect more cards (in an attempt to get the correct cards you need to defeat Freddy of if your Freddy defeat the players.) The other function of storytelling is it enables you to move your pawn around the board. If you tell a story using a room card, you can move your player to that room. As Freddy, you win if you kill off all the players. You would do this by keeping your identity hidden as long as you possibly can and collect all the fear cards. These cards when used against the players immediately kill them; they have no defense against these cards. Freddy can also use razor fingers and weapons to kill the players, however there are cards the players can play to defend against these. If your a player, there are several different card combinations that you need to kill Freddy. There is a single card ability in the deck however that immediately kills Freddy (mirror card.) So again, the premise of this game is to get the right cards in your hand. Pretty simple. The hidden identity aspect and the ability for both Freddy and the players to transport to other areas of the board allows this to be played like a game of cat and mouse. Haven't played it in years but I remember as a kid we always had fun playing it and particularly remember it being more fun when you have a large group. The game can stretch out very long but can also end very quick.
Cool idea, but this game seems almost more like a Freddy game in name only. The other Nightmare on Elm Street board game seemed a little more fitting. Even the character pawns you move around the board here look almost like the kind of drawings you see in a kid’s book, and not something Freddy-related
It's good info, good to know the strategy but a more coherent step by step how the progressions of the turns would be nice for understanding how to play.
Nice video, thanks. I have two versions of this game, one has been opened but never used and the slots are in the wrong positions. The other one which has been used the slots are in the correct positions. Would be good to see you play the game too!
